The library was enveloped in a comfortable silence, broken only by the sound of pages being turned. Jungkook walked between the shelves, his eyes scanning the spines of the books, when someone caught his attention.
A girl was sitting by the window, completely engrossed in her reading. He looked up for a moment... and froze. For the first time in his life, there was a face before him.
It wasn't a blur without identity. It wasn't an unrecognizable silhouette. He could see her eyes, the delicate contour of her nose, the gentle curve of her lips, and the way a few strands of hair escaped from behind her ear.
Her heart raced. "No... that's not possible." She blinked several times, rubbed her eyes discreetly, and looked again.
She was still there. Her face remained perfectly clear. A mixture of fascination and fear gripped him. For years, he had believed he would never see anyone's face. So... why her of all people?
