About an hour into the expedition, Christopher was descending into the store's back room, hoping to find food or other essentials, when a foul iron smell assaulted his nose, and a low, muffled growl emanated from the darkness. The loud sound of a falling iron shelf alerted Chan to someone rapidly approaching. Christopher pulled the trigger, and before the zombie could reach him, he was mown down by a burst of machine gun fire. Chan let out a tense breath, peering into the darkness for a moment before moving forward, still holding his machine gun at the ready. Having packed his finds into his backpack, Chan went upstairs, looking around, and continued on. He turned sharply back and aimed his rifle, frowning as he saw a zombie, probably the same one, in his sights. The boy stood with his head tilted to the side, staring at Chan with his dull, lifeless eyes. His cheek was torn, a piece of skin torn from his neck, and a bullet hole in his shoulder and temple. These were probably all marks from Chan's machine gun bullets. Chris frowned; the zombie stared at him silently, seemingly motionless. He chuckled silently, pointing the gun at the boy's shoulder and firing again. The zombie didn't even move toward him, only swaying slightly. Strange, usually such creatures would have pounced by now. Chan frowned even more, slowly lowering his gun, pulling a knife from his pocket. He approached Seungmin and pointed the gun at his forehead, intending to kill him immediately if he made a mistake. He slowly squeezed the blade in his palm, drawing blood. The zombie didn't even flinch.

"What the hell?" Chan frowned, even waving his bloody hand in front of his face and removing the machine gun from his forehead. Maybe that was the problem? But no, the zombie continued standing there, silently glaring at Chan.
