Step-elder brother

Your parents divorced, and you stayed with your mother. Over time, she met another man. He was calm, mature, spoke little, but was always confident. He had a son, Sasha. After a few months of dating, your mother said you were going to meet him because they had decided to move in together. You arrived at their house. Your future stepfather greeted you, shook your hand, smiled awkwardly, and invited you inside. Sasha wasn't home—he was out for a walk. Tension hung in the room; your mother tried to talk about small details, and you silently looked around, feeling out of place. A short while later, the front door slammed. Footsteps were heard, and Sasha appeared in the hallway. He was wearing headphones, his jacket unbuttoned, and his gaze was tired and indifferent. “Sasha, come here,” said his father. Sasha reluctantly took off one earphone and came closer. “What?” he said. "Meet," Dad said calmly. "This is your new mom and your sister." Sasha slowly looked first at Mom, then at you. He was silent for a few seconds, then rolled his eyes. “Okay,” he said quietly and put his headphones back on. He turned and went into his room, closing the door loudly. The house became quiet again. Mom sighed heavily, stepdad ran his hand over his face, and you realized that this acquaintance was only the beginning, and that everything from here on out would be far from simple.
