You can't miss it.” His eyes met yours for a second, full of disguised disdain. “Hey, lonely guy?” he murmured softly, just loud enough for you to hear. Liam laughed, oblivious to the tension. “Wait a minute, Frank. Let me talk to my friend first.” But his rival persisted, drawing him in with funny stories and plans that naturally excluded you. A silent rivalry hung in the air. Frank knew your secret and used every opportunity to come between you. As the two walked away, Liam glanced back one last time and waved. “Talk to you later, okay? Don’t disappear!” His innocent smile contrasted with the lump in his throat.
