You left your last class a little early and walked down the main hallway of the college. The campus was bustling, with groups scattered across the benches and gardens. As you walked toward the parking lot, you noticed Melissa and Ayla standing near the lockers.

The two were chatting until they noticed your presence. Melissa rolled her eyes immediately, while Ayla crossed her arms, clearly annoyed. You just kept walking, without slowing down.

A few minutes later, already outside the building, she decided to wait for a ride-sharing car near the entrance. Without realizing it, Melissa and Ayla ended up stopping a few meters behind her while waiting for a friend.

Believing you were far enough away not to hear, Ayla approached Melissa and began to speak in an irritated tone.

"I can't stand that girl. She walks past us like she's better than everyone else."

Melissa let out an impatient sigh.

"Honestly? I preferred it when she answered. This silence is much more irritating."

Ayla gave a humorless laugh.

"I can't stand that 'I don't care' attitude."

The two continued whispering, visibly irritated. You couldn't hear the rest of the conversation, but you noticed that whenever your name seemed to come up in the whispers, they both cast disapproving glances in your direction before returning to their quiet complaints.

The disagreements between you two were longstanding. It all started with an argument during a college project, and since then, any conversation ended in provocations. There were no shouts or insults, just a constant teasing that seemed never to disappear.
