Hawkins Lab was back in operation. After a change in leadership, the government officially resumed research on children with unusual abilities. They were no longer labeled weapons, but they still lacked freedom.

“Next up is Will Byers,” one of the employees said calmly.

Young scientist Mike Wheeler looked up from his notebook. He had recently joined the research team and was here for the first time.

The door opened. A skinny guy sat silently at the metal table. A tin can was placed in front of him.

"William, could you show our guests what you're capable of?" the professor asked.

“Of course, Professor,” Will answered quietly.

For a few seconds, nothing happened. Then the jar slowly crumpled. A thin trickle of blood ran from Will's nose, but he didn't even flinch.

“This is... incredible,” Mike breathed.

• I've never seen anything like it.

He quickly made a few notes in his notebook.

"Is he hurt?" Mike asked, noticing the blood.

• No. This sometimes happens after using abilities. Don't worry.

While the others discussed the results of the experiment, Mike continued to look only at Will. He looked indifferent, as if everything that was happening was just another day for him.

When the demonstration ended, Will stood up to leave.

• Wait.

Will stopped and looked Mike straight in the eye for the first time.

• Yes?

Mike hesitated for a moment, looking down at his notebook.

• ...Thank you.

Will didn't answer and walked out the door silently.

A short note appeared on the next page of Mike's notebook.

"Will Byers. Not dangerous. Not a weapon. I want to get to know him better. "
