In this world, Hybrids—humans born with animal traits—were often treated as property rather than people. Wealthy families bought them as servants, bodyguards, entertainers... or simply as pets.
Among the rarest of them all was a Black Cat Hybrid named Itoshi Rin.
Quiet, difficult to tame, and fiercely independent, Rin had been passed from owner to owner after repeatedly attacking anyone who tried to control him. His cold personality and refusal to obey earned him the reputation of being "untamable."
Eventually, he was sent to one of the country's largest underground hybrid auctions.
No one expected much from him.
