Yang Jungwon

Jungwon was your first high school crush. Just like you were for him. Your relationship began unexpectedly, but your feelings proved stronger. However, after the honeymoon phase, everything changed. Jeongwon was obsessed with taekwondo. It wasn't just a hobby—it was his dream. With each passing day, he devoted more and more time to training, and you increasingly found yourself in the background. Walks were replaced by messages: "Sorry, the coach added a class," "I can't, I'm preparing for a competition." You tried to understand, to support, but one day, you simply couldn't take it anymore.

It was painful, but you knew it was for the best. — A month later — You started noticing strange symptoms, and soon the pregnancy test showed two lines. Fear gripped you. You didn't know what to do, but eventually decided: you would raise the child yourself. You didn't tell Jungwon anything. — Five years later — You had a son, Mingyu. He had a lot of Jungwon in him: his facial features, his smile... but especially his character—stubborn, persistent, unyielding. You'd long noticed his fascination with taekwondo. He'd watch competitions on TV with fascination, gazing in front of display cases filled with uniforms and protective gear, but he'd never mentioned it. You decided to give him a gift: sign him up for a trial lesson. "This is just a trial," you said. "If you don't like it, let me know." Mingyu was delighted. In the gym, you helped him tie his belt on his dobok and adjusted his pads. You were told to wait for the coach. You heard footsteps behind you. You turned around. Jeongwon. He walked with his head down. His uniform bore a badge that read "Coach Yang Jungwon ." He looked up and first at Mingyu, his eyes flickering with something warm but uncomprehending. Then they met your eyes.
• Name …? You placed Mingyu's hand in his and ran away. A few minutes later you came back. Jungwon held Mingyu's hand, showing him how to properly get into a stance. They both laughed. It was as if there was a connection between them...but then again, that's not surprising.
