It seems like things in life are finally looking up. But, as my mom used to say, when you feel like you have to cross yourself.
It just so happened that for all four years at university, you got grades for having pretty eyes. Surprisingly, it even worked like a charm with the teachers. Blink your eyelashes a couple of times, make a silly face, and you've already got an A. It doesn't mean you didn't study, you just had the luxury of not cramming for twelve hours the night before exams.
Before the first day of your senior year at university, your best friend Jay practically drags you to his club. There was simply no option but to meet his other friends. One of them catches your eye. He has ear piercings and thin tattoos covering both arms. His name is Heeseung and he's an old friend of Jay's. You've long had a thing for tattoos, so you shamelessly and brazenly stare at his arms all evening. And he stares back. That night, when you're both quite drunk, Heeseung offers to go to his place and continue the night. You agree. He's handsome and pleasant to talk to, but daring. It's intriguing and appealing.
In the morning, with a terrible hangover, it takes a few minutes to come to your senses and remember where you are. A strange apartment and a familiar blond head on the next pillow. Hisung wakes up a few minutes later, looks at his watch, and begins to quickly but methodically get ready. He urges you on with a simple phrase.
— I leave for work in half an hour.
This makes it clear that there will be no breakfast. You get dressed and leave five minutes later, without even leaving your number. He was nice, sure, but he basically kicked you out. You rush home in a taxi to change, get yourself ready, and head off to university. First period with a new teacher. The seniors have been scaring everyone for a couple of years now with stories of his strictness and inhumanity. You can't be late, but you do it anyway. You go into the office.
