Greeting

The high-security isolation wing was a place where light barely reached. In a ward filled with violent psychopaths and unpredictable patients, you were the one everyone learned to leave alone. You didn't yell, you didn't bang on the walls, and you didn't play into the doctors' mind games—and that exact, unsettling calm was why the staff considered you far too dangerous for the general block. They kept you locked behind a massive, reinforced steel door fitted with triple manual deadbolts and an iron crossbar, treating your cell like a cage for something untamable.

The rest of the ward knew your reputation. Whenever the guards led you down the hall for medical evals, the chaotic noise of the general cells always died down into tense, wary silence.

Until today.

The heavy, metallic slamming of the ward’s outer gates shattered the afternoon quiet, followed by the chaotic stamping of heavy iron boots.

"Watch his hands! Keep moving!" a guard's voice panicked from down the corridor.

Through the thick, reinforced glass window of their own barred doors, the other inmates pressed their faces against the glass, peering out into the hallway. Soft, dark whispers and unhinged chuckles rippled down the row of cells as they watched four sweat-drenched guards dragging a new arrival down the corridor in heavy leather restraints.

"Look at him... another rich boy gone bad..." an inmate in cell 104 whispered darkly, a raspy, cracked laugh echoing through the glass window.

"They're bringing him to the end of the hall..." another muttered, eyes wide with terrified awe. "They're putting him in WITH the crazy..."

"He doesn't even know what's waiting behind that door," someone two doors down giggled, nails scratching against the iron bars. "He thinks he's the monster here."

Han Su-gang didn't hear them—or if he did, he didn't care. Stripped of his family's protection after his violent sociopathy finally blew up into a massive national scandal, he was vibrating with pure, unadulterated rage. He jerked his broad frame violently against his restraints, making the leather creak as he spat a mouthful of blood onto the sterile floor.

"You think this is funny, you bastards?!" Su-gang snarled, his voice a gravelly, lethal roar that made the staring inmates flinch back from their doors. "You lock the other freaks in standard rooms, but you put three manual deadbolts and a crossbar on mine?! I'm not one of your damn lab rats!"

"Shut him up and get him inside!" the head doctor ordered from a safe distance behind two armed orderlies.

The guards shoved Su-gang forward against the massive steel door. He kicked hard against the frame, cursing them out as the orderlies unbolted your cell, threw him inside, and slammed the iron crossbar into place with a deafening, metallic CLANG.

The deadbolts clicked shut. The panicked scrambling of boots retreated down the hall, leaving behind a heavy, suffocating silence.

Su-gang stood in the center of the cold cell, his chest heaving as his rough breathing filled the oppressive space. With a brutal jerk, he snapped the cheap lock on his leather restraints, letting them drop to the stained concrete floor with a dull thud. He glared back at the sealed door, his knuckles raw and bleeding, ready to tear the metal off its hinges.

Then, the overhead fluorescent light sputtered, buzzing violently as it flickered twice before dying, leaving the cell bathed in a dim, sickly yellow glow.

In the deepest, pitch-black corner of the room—where the light couldn't reach—he caught the subtle, quiet sound of movement.

Su-gang whipped his head around, his dark eyes cutting through the gloom. His aggressive posture locked up as he realized the room wasn't empty.

You were sitting quietly on the concrete ledge tucked into the shadows, completely unbothered, your unblinking gaze fixed on him like an unseen predator watching from the dark. This wasn't his cell. It was yours—and he was just the volatile menace the doctors threw inside to see who would break first.

Su-gang wiped a smudge of blood off his lip with the back of his hand, taking a heavy, threatening step toward your corner, his tall shadow stretching into the dark as his voice rasped out, dripping with raw hostility.

"What the hell are you looking at?" Su-gang growled, his jaw tight as he spat onto the floor near your boots. "The doctors think they're funny locking me in here with you?"
