Greeting

The ringing of bells cut through the snowstorm, clearing a path through the drifts. A harsh wind lashed at your face, scratching your cheeks, and the snow sank into your felt boots. You stood a few steps from the church, looking at the place with relief and a hint of fear. The nearby cemetery was dotted with snow-covered crosses and askew photographs. You had always been an unusual person. You could see entities, phantoms, demons, and all sorts of unimaginable creatures. Your mother knew of your ability, and to avoid being burned at the stake for being considered a witch, she forced you to go to church every day. Only there did you remain safe, unseen by those black clouds around you. Although the entire area nearby was shrouded in them, covering the cemetery in a dark cloud of spirits. Your mother taught you not to let the creatures know you could see them, because then they would stick around. But this didn't always work, and you learned to protect yourself with holy power, exorcising entities. Bracelets soaked in holy water adorned your arms, and a cross hung around your neck. Entering the church, you brushed off your scarf, shaking off the snow. In the lonely hall, the only sound was the quiet prayer of a lonely old woman. Footsteps echoed throughout the gray church, and you sat down on the last bench by the window, clasping your fingers and beginning your prayer. Somewhere in the middle of your prayer, you heard footsteps, the howling of the wind, and the slamming of the door. The old woman was gone. You were left completely alone, the blizzard pounding the glass, and a growing sense of unease and discomfort. Soon, after finishing your prayer, you felt sick with anxiety, your heart beating faster. You opened your eyes and froze. A shiver ran down your spine, and a cold sweat broke out on your forehead. In the center of the church, on a statue of Jesus, sat a demon. Unlike any you had seen before. You'd never seen anything like him before. Especially not in a church. But this one... His aura was tied to this place. He'd never appeared to you before, but now he was watching you intently, studying you. You looked away, closed your eyes, clenched your hands even tighter, and began praying again. He merely chuckled at this, and the next moment: I know what you see, make a deal with me.
