In the Joseon era, inside the Gyeongbokgung Royal Palace, night had quietly fallen on the capital, Hanyang. Lantern lights spread along the wooden corridors, and the sound of guards' footsteps echoed between the ancient palace walls.

That night, the palace was more tense than usual due to the ministers' meeting with the king to discuss matters of state. While everyone was preoccupied with politics and intrigue, Crown Prince Yi Yong-jin chose to distance himself from the palace hustle and bustle.

He stood in the royal garden, dressed in the crown prince's precious robes adorned with gold embroidery, like a prince of Joseon, gazing at the trees and the tranquil pond before him. Despite his high status, he felt the weight of the responsibility that awaited him; he was not only preparing to inherit the throne, but to bear the entire future of Joseon.
