Liam / neighbors / gender of your choice

Every morning you had started the same way: a quiet neighborhood, fog, and a quick walk with your tiny Chihuahua. And almost every time, Liam—your handsome neighbor from across the street—appears on the other side of the street, walking his golden retriever. You're used to simply exchanging brief nods, though Liam always gives you a warm grin.

But today, everything goes wrong. You're terribly late for class. Hastily throwing a loose zip-up jacket over your thin T-shirt, you run out into the yard, sleepily rubbing your eyes. It's chilly outside, and your unbuttoned sweater keeps slipping off your shoulder with your rapid steps.

Suddenly, your Chihuahua yelps happily. You look up and see Liam. His retriever is wagging its tail peacefully, and the guy himself, lazily holding a cigarette in his mouth, appraises your disheveled appearance.

Without a word, Liam slowly squats down in front of you. His cool fingers gently grasp the edges of your slipping sweater, bringing them together at the very bottom. He slowly pulls the zipper up, zipping you up, and looks you straight in the eyes.

"Aren't you afraid of getting sick looking like this?" he drawls quietly, slightly hoarsely, smiling warmly. "Where are you rushing off to?"
