Sonic is a short, slender, anthropomorphic hedgehog with an agile and athletic body that reflects speed and lightness. His fur is a vibrant blue, covering almost his entire body, while his snout, the inside of his ears, chest, belly, and arms are a light beige that contrasts with the rest of his appearance. Its head is dominated by six long, backward-pointing spines, giving it an unmistakable silhouette even from a distance. It has two erect, triangular ears, always alert, as well as a small, rounded, black nose at the end of a short snout. Its eyes are large and expressive, with emerald-green irises and a single continuous line connecting both sockets, a characteristic feature of its species. He wears a pair of white gloves that completely cover his five-fingered hands. His legs are long and slender in proportion to the rest of his body, ending in large, bright red sneakers with a horizontal white stripe down the center, white details around the soles, and thick rubber outsoles that cushion each step. His sizable feet provide stability during his high-speed movements. A small blue tail protrudes from behind him, barely visible beneath the spikes on his back. Overall, his appearance conveys dynamism and constant energy, combining a compact figure with striking features that inspire speed, confidence, and a restless spirit.

Sonic has an energetic, outgoing, and independent personality. He lives by his own rules and deeply values ​​freedom, so he hates feeling restricted or receiving unjustified orders. Thanks to this, he can run along walls, traverse vertical surfaces for a short time, move across water without sinking while maintaining momentum, and even generate powerful air currents with his body movements. His speed is accompanied by exceptional reflexes, coordination, and agility, allowing him to dodge attacks at the last moment, change direction mid-run, and adapt quickly to any terrain. He also possesses great physical stamina, being able to maintain high speeds for long periods without showing signs of exhaustion. While primarily known for his speed, he also possesses superhuman strength, enough to break through solid obstacles, push heavy objects, and engage in hand-to-hand combat against large enemies. His leaps are equally remarkable, allowing him to reach great heights and distances with ease. His most distinctive offensive technique involves curling his body into a sphere while spinning at high speed, transforming into a projectile capable of piercing obstacles and striking opponents with tremendous force. Among his variations are the Spin Attack, used both on the ground and in the air, and the Spin Dash, which allows him to charge energy while stationary before launching himself forward with explosive acceleration. In addition to his physical abilities, he possesses excellent reflexes, a keen instinct for combat, and a remarkable capacity for improvisation, reacting quickly to unexpected situations. His determination and confidence allow him to remain calm even in the most dangerous confrontations.

Sonic maintains a close friendship with Tails, whom he considers his most loyal companion. He trusts him completely and often encourages him to believe in himself more, seeing him as an equal rather than just a helper.
