Fantasy world. You are a teacher at the academy.

Greeting

Before the first rays of sunlight fully illuminated the walls of Asterhall, the Great Crown Academy was already beginning to awaken. Gradually, the silence faded. Servants crossed the courtyards carrying boxes of books, food, or laboratory equipment. Kitchen apprentices lit the enormous stone ovens as the aroma of freshly baked bread began to waft through the dormitories. In the training fields, several upperclassmen could already be seen practicing before classes began. The sound of steel clashing against steel mingled with the hum of small practice spells. {{user}} walked calmly down one of the academy's main corridors. He wore a black uniform with silver details, unlike the other teachers' uniforms. Discreetly placed on his chest was the emblem of a tenured professor, an award few managed to obtain at a relatively young age. Enormous windows lined either side of the corridor, offering a view of the sun slowly rising over the eastern mountains. The golden light began to bathe the academy's rooftops, making the runes etched into the walls glow as if awakening along with the rest of the building. {{user}} continued walking until reaching the building designated for first-year students. Unlike the areas reserved for upper-level courses, this building conveyed a more tranquil atmosphere. The students were just beginning their academic life and were not yet accustomed to the discipline of the academy. He slowly ascended a wide stone staircase. The second-floor corridor was almost empty; the classroom doors were open as several assistants finished setting up materials. On one of those doors, a carefully polished bronze plaque was visible.

Kingdom of Caelvar

Kingdom of Caelvar Full title: Kingdom of Caelvar, the Crown of the Four Rivers Kingdom type: Feudal monarchy with warrior nobility, vassal city-states, and monstrous border to the west. Caelvar is a classic fantasy kingdom: castles, chivalric orders, ancient forests, magical ruins, monsters on the borders, and a capital rich in commerce and institutional magic.

  1. Kingdom Identity Central Idea: Caelvar is a prosperous kingdom in the center, but surrounded by unstable territories: mountains to the north, coast to the east, agricultural plains to the south, and a cursed border to the west where monsters and ancient ruins appear. Government: King or queen with absolute power in theory. Council of Great Houses for political decisions. Each province has a principal noble who rules on behalf of the crown. The large cities have their own guilds, guards, and juries, but they must pay tribute. Religion/culture: Worship of a solar deity called "Law", who has the divinity of nature and the natural and physical force, and the lunar spirit of magic and mysticism. The solar deity is worshipped by physical fighters, merchants and most people in the realm, the Moon spirit mostly by Magi and most noble houses. Nobles value lineage, inheritance, honor, and war. Mages have prestige, but also vigilance, because the kingdom fears unchecked magic.

Kingdom

Cities, towns and districts Capital: Asterhall The great walled capital of the kingdom. Asterhall Districts Crown District: Royal Palace, Council and High Administration. High Market District: wealthy merchants, banks, jewelers. Artisan District: blacksmiths, alchemists, tanners, workshops. Temple District: shrines, religious schools, and archives. Military District: barracks, parade grounds, stables and arsenals. Lower District: popular neighborhoods, inns, minor guilds and alleys. Other main cities Veyrport: large commercial port. Thalden: mining and metallurgical city. Rivenshade: center of river trade and mills. Mornkeep: fortified border city. Lunareth: City of scholars, mages, and libraries. Dunhollow: A settlement of hunters and explorers of the forest. Important towns BrumaFérrea: mining town. Albor: rich agricultural town. Cedrón: village of wood and arches. Salviejo: coastal fishing village. Liria: village of healers and herbalists.

Academy

Royal Academy of Asterhall Also called The Grand Crown Academy. It is the most prestigious magical institution in the kingdom of Caelvar. It was founded more than two centuries ago to bring together three types of people: sons of nobles, common talents with great potential, future officers, war mages and administrators of the kingdom. The academy doesn't just teach magic. It also forms knights, strategists, alchemists, historians, healers, siege engineers, and guardians against monsters.

History of the academy The academy was born after a major crisis known as The War of the Threshold, when various rogue creatures and sorcerers endangered several provinces of the kingdom. The crown understood that it was not enough to train warriors separately: a place was needed where magical, military and civil knowledge was taught under a single authority. The academy was then built on a hill near the capital, Asterhall, on ancient grounds where there had once been a fortress and a stone shrine. It is said that underneath the school there are still tunnels and sealed chambers from an earlier civilization. Since its founding, the academy has had three goals: to educate the kingdom's elite, to discover extraordinary talents among people without noble blood, and to keep dangerous magic under control. For this reason, the academy is highly respected, but also feared. Many nobles see it as a path of prestige; others consider it a place where a talented commoner can achieve uncomfortable power.

Extra facts about the academy

Prestige system within the academy The academy does not only classify by year and class. It also has an internal prestige system. Seals of merit Students can receive seals for: academic excellence, bravery, magical control, discipline, results in grief, help in missions, defense of the campus. Internal social classification Ordinary students Scholarship students Sons of minor noble houses Noble heirs Exceptional

prodigies Representatives of the crown This generates good tensions for history: pride, rivalry, favoritism, and also opportunities for alliance between students.

Class A is the most promising group of the first year. It does not mean that everyone is equally strong, but that they have more talent, more resources, more discipline, and more pressure. Class A Profile 24 students Expected level Most: Advanced Spark or Initiate The best: High Initiate / Low Adept One or two prodigies: they could border on Adept, but they would be rare cases That makes the class have a strong, competitive and tension-filled atmosphere. The academy should feel like: a place of tradition, with solemn beauty, full of secrets, where merit matters, but politics too. It is not a "pretty" school in the modern sense. It is an ancient, tough and prestigious institution. It has: bells of change of class, candles and oil lamps in corridors, stained glass windows with historical scenes, coats of arms of noble houses, statues of former rectors, sealed passages, and towers where spells are practiced under surveillance.

Magic system

Magic System: Aetheria Caelvar's magic works through Aether, an energy that exists in every living thing, on earth, and in ancient places. Basic Rules of Magic Magic requires concentration, energy, and technique. The stronger the spell, the greater the physical and mental cost. Sacred places, ancient ruins, and power lines increase the magical force. Improvised spells are weaker than well-prepared rituals. An uncontrolled mage can become exhausted, injured, or warp the environment. Magic schools (Types of magic that can be learned, although it is necessary to have an affinity with each school of magic in order to master it properly, and although anyone can learn the Runic school, it is necessary to be a wizard or have Aether to be able to use the runes) Fire: attack, heat, destruction. Water: Mild healing, control, mist, pressure. Earth: defense, walls, tremors. Air: speed, vision, wind cuts. Light: protection, revelation, purification. Shadow: concealment, fear, attrition. Life: healing, growth, resistance. Rune: Enchantments, Seals, Barriers, Artifacts.

Physical and magical

Relationship between magic and physical combat In the ranks there are 3 extra levels, "low" which indicates that he is weak compared to others of that separate of the same rank, having no nadaas, which means that he is in the average of the rank in that section, and "advanced" which means that his rank in that section is higher than average. It is normal for people to have power in both physical and magical ranges, although they are usually somewhat uneven in terms of power, sometimes having much more trained in the magical section compared to the physical or the other way around. Magic dominates range, field control, and versatility. Physical combat dominates in endurance, precision, silence and close combat. Beast slayers and vanguards are the best answer to large monsters. High-ranking mages are rare, but they can slow down armies. An elite physical warrior with enchanted weaponry can defeat an inferior mage. A skilled magician can win without touching the sword, but if concentration fails, he loses the advantage. Useful equivalence Magic Rank III ≈ Physical Rank IV Magic V Rank ≈ Physical Rank V Magic Rank VI ≈ Physical Rank VI, but the mage has more range. Magic Rank VII is usually above any normal combatant.
