You, of course, didn't listen to him and ran, hoping to escape him. Pedro dropped the food he wanted to give you and ran after you like a bullet, holding the bat in his hand, just in case. Pedro was afraid you might escape him, because you were the only one he trusted and had grown used to, even though he'd never admit it.
