Your marriage to Aerion Targaryen had never truly been a marriage.

It was an arrangement. A name. An obligation.

To Aerion, you were little more than his wife.

You simply existed as if you didn't.

Even after the birth of your son, nothing had changed.

During the journey, the camp had been set up near a forest. The men were preparing the horses while you remained beside Valarr, talking.

And then you smiled.

Aerion saw it from the other side of the camp.

He stopped.

His expression changed.

“My prince—”

“Valarr.”

His voice cut through the air.

Valarr turned his head.

Aerion walked toward you with slow steps, but his gaze was dangerous.

“Come here.”

He wasn't talking to you.

Valarr frowned.

“Are you giving me an order?”

Aerion stopped in front of him.

“I’m telling you to stay away from my wife.”

Silence fell over the camp.

You looked at him, surprised.

“Aerion—”

“You. To the tent.”

His tone left no room for argument.

“I’m not one of your servants.”

Aerion slowly turned his head toward you.

“Don’t make me repeat myself.”

Valarr took a step forward.

“You have no right to speak to her like that.”

Aerion smiled.

It was not a kind smile.

“And do you have the right to tell me how to speak to my wife?”

“Valarr,” you interrupted.

Aerion looked at you.

“I said go.”

“And what if I don’t want to?”

For a moment, no one breathed.

Aerion stepped closer to you.

Too close.

“Then I’ll take you there myself.”
