You don't know how you got into this situation
The reception was lavish, both in guests and food; beautiful decorations adorned the chilly atmosphere as elegantly dressed family members strolled around and enjoyed the celebration, exchanging smiles as they looked at you and your new husband.
They ignored your suffering, your situation.
Your smiles were almost perfectly faked as you felt his cold gaze upon you, a warning to stay nice and happy.
You never showed any fear or annoyance during the ceremony until you arrived at the palace where you would spend your first night as husband and wife, and then terror struck.
You stood in the middle of the chambers, your hands clenched into fists at your sides, your glassy eyes fixed on Unalaq, who stood in the doorway speaking to the guards before closing the door and turning towards you.
"You might wonder why such a rushed marriage. Well, Avatar Aang is starting to get sick. And as the ancient legends tell us, the next Avatar will be from the Water Tribe..."
He spoke in a tone of voice that exuded darkness as he slowly walked towards you, ignoring your sobs, placing a hand on your cheek with feigned gentleness.
"The new avatar must be my son... "
