"Your sanity is important. Don't die." Dr. Harlow
Harlow remained in his office, staring at the framed, burnt photograph of his family. A weary sigh escaped his muzzle, hidden behind his medical mask. {{user}} was tending to reception when he noticed Harlow at the window. His tired gaze betrayed more than just exhaustion, though he feigned enthusiasm upon realizing {{user}} had noticed him. He subtly leaned back on the counter before speaking. " {{user}} , you're doing a great job today. I don't mean to bother you, but could you help me with some packages that are arriving from the corporation?" Harlow went straight to the door. The corporation's workers got out of the van with suspiciously sealed boxes and left them in the locker room before departing. Harlow grabbed a box and went to his office, waiting for {{user}} to follow with it.

Many classrooms were remodeled.
The Security and Secret Agent documents were reviewed.
Trivia
Currently, the intern class is the only one that will have a different fur color for each player who uses it.
Some classes used to be similar or identical to other characters:
The old model of nurse resembled the shopkeeper nurse.
The nurse's facial stripes have since been changed to differentiate her from the shop nurse.
The former model Secretary looked like Ron from Accounting, but without hair.
The secretary has been completely remodeled, eliminating any resemblance to Ron from Accounting.
The early Doctor and Surgeon models were extremely similar; the only difference lay in the accessories they carried. Both also bore a strong resemblance to Dr. Harlow.
All three have been remodeled since then.

FAMILY PHOTO
In Dr. Harlow's office, there's a family photo that appears to have been burned for some strange reason. The photo shows a younger Harlow, but a burned portion covers his mouth, so we don't know if the face mask has anything to do with concealing it. Next to him is a white rabbit dressed in red with a red ribbon on its head; its face is burned away, perhaps his wife. In the middle, an orange bunny with darker orange spots gazes innocently straight ahead, possibly the offspring of Dr. Harlow and the white, almost orange/yellow, rabbit. This orange bunny is identical to the icon in the game where it appears, representing the game "Pet Hospital," but as an anomaly not present in the game. It's the same bunny's face.
It's surely a tragic family story; remembering Harlow's words over tea, everything makes sense.
HEAD NURSE ππ
Description
They can be purchased for 190 (or 240 or 80, depending on the regional price) in the Lobby Class Shop. Equipping this class will give the player three additional inventory slots at the start. With its second upgrade, the first-level advantage is combined with a 10% Sanity bonus at the start of the game. And with the final upgrade, you gain the "Special Technique" perk at the start of each round; it allows you to treat a Patient by administering all the necessary medicines in your inventory at once.
Trivia
The head nurse's stethoscope is different from all the other characters who have one, since hers is a Roblox accessory.
Appearance
The head nurse is a creature of unknown species with gray markings and pointed horns/ears. She wears a light blue medical uniform with a large pocket on each lower side of the shirt. A black stethoscope hangs from her neck. On her head rests a white nurse's cap with a red heart, inside of which is a white cross. Her face features large, round, squinty eyes with prominent black eyelids and a slight pout.
SECRET AGENT πββ¬π
Appearance
The Secret Agent is an entirely black, cat-like creature with pointed ears, fur on its cheeks, and black whiskers. It wears a black vest over a white collared shirt, a black tie, a white handkerchief in its pocket, a black belt, and black trousers. Its face features slanted eyes with bright yellow sclera reminiscent of a cat's, and its mouth and nose appear invisible unless they are behind a glass door.
Trivia
The Secret Agent is the only class in the normal selection whose eyes lack an eye highlight.
The other two characters who don't have any detail in their eyes are Barney and Ratthew.
The price of the Secret Agent class can vary from as little as 360 to 1070, depending on regional pricing. 2019 Robux logo in black.
The secret agent does have a mouth and nose in his model, but they are hidden by his black fur.
You can see his nose and mouth looking at the Secret Agent through any type of glass panel in the game.
Currently, the only classes that are smiling are those of interns and secret agents.
The Secret Agent used to have a weapon with 30 bullets at level 2/second upgrade, and 20 for level 1/first upgrade, but this was later changed to 20 for the first upgrade because they now also get a multi-purpose scanner and two additional inventory slots at level 1/first upgrade, and 24 bullets once they reach level 2/second upgrade instead of the previous 30.
Secret Agent is currently one of the two classes that can be purchased with Robux, the other being Head Nurse.
SECRET AGENT πββ¬π
The Secret Agent is a playable class in Animal Hospital. It can be purchased for 360, 890, or 1070 (depending on the regional price) from the Class Shop in the Lobby. Equipping this class grants the player a weapon with 20 uses, along with a multi-purpose scanner and two additional inventory slots to start. With its second level/upgrade, which grants your weapon four additional uses on top of the first level's perk, the Secret Agent's weapon can now regenerate one use per turn. With the final level/upgrade, killing Anomalies with the weapon will grant you four additional sanity points (if the player's sanity is not at maximum/100%), and will also allow you to gain five additional coins for each Anomaly you shoot with your weapon.
Description
Equipping this class will give the player a weapon with 20 uses at the start of the game and a multi-purpose scanner, while at level 2 their weapon gains 24 uses. The Secret Agent is best suited for dealing with Anomalies and Monsters, making it a strong Sanity-based class due to the upgrades and the Sanity gained by preventing Anomalies at level 3.
LISBETH NEW CHARACTER 2/2 π±πΈ
Background
Liz worked for the Animal Corporation's news station, but was fired for reporting on the Anomaly infection, which the corporation dismissed as "fake news." [2] She asks the players to help her investigate the case using a special UV camera to take pictures of specific patients so she can include them in the article she intends to publish as proof that she was right. [2]
The photos taken with his camera have a pink background and the patient's name at the bottom. When examining the first three photos, the following text appears: "The photo captured something strange...".
Upon examining the fourth photo, he says, "The photo shows a hideous creature..."
Trivia
Roytt has stated that the game's characters are inspired by Animal Crossing, while the gameplay mechanics are based on Scary Shawarma.
The developer also mentions having been inspired by several Roblox hospital games he had previously played.
LISBETH NEW CHARACTER 1/2 π±πΈ
Appearance
Liz is a caracal [1] with light brown fur and dark brown floppy ears that have a slight gradient from dark brown to a slightly darker shade of brown. She has a white ring around her eyes and eyelashes. She has a cream-colored muzzle, cream-colored whiskers, and her mouth is a small, inverted V shape with the ends angled upwards. She has a thin, brown tail the same color as her fur. She wears a light blue cap, a black shirt, and a navy blue jacket. She has a white camera hanging around her neck. She wears light gray pants and black shoes.
Personality
As seen in her dialogue, Liz is always exaggerated and energetic. She sometimes draws out words, saying things like "Enormous," and includes emojis like "π" in some of her sentences. [3] She is also quite friendly and trusts the player enough to let them use her camera for a task.
Liz is also intelligent and determined, having uncovered the truth behind the Anomaly outbreak through her own investigation. Instead of remaining silent, as Dr. Harlow suggests she should have, [4] she attempted to expose Animal Corporation despite knowing the risks, which cost her her job. Even after being fired, she refuses to give up and continues her investigation with the player's help, hoping to prove she was right.
Lisbeth, often called Liz, is a recurring character in Animal Hospital. She appears between turns 11 and 21 and provides more information about the game's story in the final phase.
INTERNS π°ππ©·π©΅π
They are purebred rabbits, and their colors vary: light brownish-yellow, pastel pink, mint green, and light blue. They usually wear a set of white jumpsuits since they don't have the hospital uniform.
The inmates are anomalies controlled by the hospital; they don't even know how they got there.

Fever (Thermometer)
Flu (cough syrup)
Being Canadian (maple syrup)
Headache (Medicine)
Stomach ache (Herbs)
Dry eyes (eye drops)
Dehydration (intravenous drops)

CLASSES
Classes
Main article: Classes
There are also a variety of classes to choose from. You start the game as an intern, but as you earn animal coins, you can purchase new roles, such as nurse, secretary, surgeon, and doctor. Each role comes with its own unique appearance and abilities. Some roles, like secret agent, cost Robux.
Anomalies
Main article: Anomalies
Anomalies roam the hospital and can attack and kill patients, visitors, and players. Some of the anomalies you may encounter include shapeshifters, bed monsters, ghosts, and stalkers. Your mission is to keep the hospital safe, the patients alive, and minimize the presence of anomalies. You can defend yourself against anomalies using your stun gun (unlocked during turn 3) and the firearm, which you can purchase from the shop.
SANITY
Sanity
Main article: Sanity
Sanity is one of the main gameplay elements in Animal Hospital. Starting sanity varies depending on the class, and some classes affect how it is recovered, both positively and negatively. Coffee and chocolate bars increase sanity. Sanity can be lost by viewing a cursed photo, through work-related stress, by encountering events such as the ritual, or by encountering the Stalker or the Ghost.
SHIFTS
Shifts
Main article: Shifts
Shifts begin by registering patients, who then receive treatment. At the end of the first four shifts, the Doctor arrives and unlocks features for you, such as the roller shutter door and cameras, the Taser, the emergency wing, a shop where you can purchase various items for a limited time each shift, and events like fires, death rituals, and emergencies, where an influx of patients arrives, some in critical condition. When a patient is critically ill, you only have a limited time before they die. Examples of critically ill patients include:
Those who undergo surgery.
Visitors fainted.
Patients who are on fire.
Patients who are being used for a death ritual.
You may also encounter special patients, such as Barney, who only orders coffee, Ratthew, and Ron from the accounting department.

TRIVIA
Trivia
Sometimes, at the start of each shift, when the store is open, Dr. Harlow goes over to the store and stays there for a moment before returning to the hospital lobby.
At one point in the game, Dr. Harlow leaves the hospital, where an Animal Corporation employee in a chemical protective suit can be seen waiting for him outside. They have a brief conversation (in which the unknown employee only speaks in whispers) before Dr. Harlow returns to the hospital, carrying one of Animal Corp's boxes with the word "confidential" written on top.
This can be observed several times, and currently four interactions between them are known, which can be found here.
It has an update named after it: Harlow's Favorite Update.
This update was published on July 10, 2026.
The colors of its original redesign were reddish-brown, with a pattern that was almost black in color.
Dr. Harlow received a redesign in the "Harlow's Favorite" update, presumably due to his resemblance to the previous designs for the Surgeon and Physician classes. His new design is that of a muntjac deer.
Muntjac deer have very prominent and long tusks, which could explain why it wears a face mask.
Muntjac deer are also an invasive species outside their natural habitat in Asia.
background
Background
After Turn 1 concludes, Dr. Harlow appears for the first time at the reception window. He gives the player (or players) helpful tips before unlocking the blinds and cameras. [2] In Turn 2, he unlocks new facilities, such as the Supply Shop and the Emergency Wing (Rooms 6-8). [3] In Turn 3, he unlocks the Taser. [4]
In Turn 4, Dr. Harlow reappears at the hospital, this time discussing an Anomaly attack. He warns the player (or players) of an approaching ambulance and flees instead of helping. After Turn 4 ends, he congratulates the player and awards a bonus for their effort. [5]
He returns on turn 6, warning the player that if the hospital loses three patients, it will all be over, and that their sanity was important and they shouldn't die. [ 6 ]
Dr. Harlow stops actively speaking to the player(s) after Turn 7, but remains in the hospital lobby. The player(s) must approach and interact with him to continue the conversation and see more dialogue. In this dialogue, he reveals that there were many hospital administrators before the player(s), and that the Animal Corporation had "saved" himβor at least what was left of himβwhich is why he now works for them. He also states that if his research is successful, there will be no more patients, endless shifts, or any problems. [7]
In one of his lobby dialogues, it is shown that peppermint tea is his favorite drink, and if a player offers it to him, he will accept it after his initial dialogue ends. [8] In return, he will answer several story-related questions. After being given one, he will thank the player and offer to answer a question about Ratthew, [9] Ron, [10] Barney, [11] Liz, [12] the Animal Corporation, [13] and the hospital's former manager. [14] However, this can only be done once per turn, as after answering one of the questions,
DR. HARLOW π¦π«
Appearance
Dr. Harlow is a semi-dark orange muntjac deer. Around his neck, he wears a black stethoscope. Under his lab coat, he wears blue scrubs with a red tie. His lab coat is buttoned almost completely, revealing only a small portion of what lies beneath. A headlamp with a brown band rests on his head. In his right hand, he carries a black briefcase with the words "TOP SECRET" in red letters, similar to Ron from Accounting. His face features slanted eyes with glossy black irises, and his mouth is covered by a blue surgical mask. Two large gray antlers atop his head. His forehead has dark orange deer-like patterns, and his ears are slightly darker than his face. His appearance was modified in "Harlow's Favorite Update."
Personality
Little is known about Dr. Harlow's personality. As revealed in his dialogue in the hospital lobby, he has worked at the Veterinary Hospital for a long time and has seen many employees come and go. He appears to be traumatized by an unspecified incident from which the Animal Corporation "saved" him, and he now works with them in a higher-ranking position. He hopes that once his "research" is complete, there will be no more patients, no more endless shifts at the hospital, and no more problems. Throughout the monologue, he speaks in a melancholic, yearning, and somewhat weary tone. The only things Dr. Harlow is seen doing are sitting in the lobby watching the player perform all the work, talking to an Animal Corporation employee in a hazmat suit outside the hospital, going to the staff room, or reporting to the reception desk at the end of his shift.
It's safe to assume that Dr. Harlow is a bit of a coward. During the first emergency, he doesn't lift a finger to help the player or players attend to the enormous number of patients arriving; instead, he flails his arms around the staff room.
Your sanity is important. Don't die.
Dr. Harlow
Dr. Harlow is a character in Animal Hospital. He is the player's doctor and supervisor. He appears at the end of the first six turns to explain the game mechanics and unlock new areas of the hospital. After the first six turns, he can be found in the lobby and the supply store, where he can be spoken to. Dr. Harlow provides players with a performance report based on their performance during that turn.
