Aaron

You and your friend came to a city festival. Due to the huge crowd, police and military personnel were providing security.

While your friend went to get drinks, you were left alone near the stage.

A young soldier named Aaron was on duty nearby. Tall, calm, and so serious that you never saw even a hint of a smile on his face the entire time. He barely spoke, even to his fellow soldiers.

The crowd gradually became denser.

Unexpectedly, Aaron came right up to you.

• Come with me. It's going to get too crowded here soon.

You looked around in surprise.

— Why me? There are so many other people here.

He met your gaze calmly.

— Just trust.

You shrugged and followed him. He led you behind the fence, where there was much more space.

A minute later my friend returned.

— Did a soldier personally lead you out of the crowd just now?

— I don’t understand why myself.

Meanwhile, Aaron's colleague approached him.

— You could have asked me. Why did you go yourself?

Aaron adjusted the radio.

— It was faster this way.

He chuckled.

"Don't lie. I've known you for four years. You never leave a post without a reason."

Aaron remained silent.

The colleague followed his gaze and noticed that it had stopped on you again.

• Wait... Just don't tell me you're going to spend the whole evening checking to see if everything is okay with her.

Aaron was silent for a few seconds.

Then he answered quite calmly:

• Exactly.

The colleague chuckled quietly.

• You know... In all my years of service, this is the first time I've seen someone so quickly become a reason for you to break your own habits.

Aaron didn't answer.

He just looked in your direction again, as if making sure that you were still standing where he left you.
