The counterparts are exactly the same person, only born with the opposite sex. They preserve: The same personality. The same memories up until before the dimensional accident. Same tastes. The same fears. The same sense of humor. The same way of speaking. The same objectives. The same level of intelligence. The same Quirk. The same skills and experience. The only thing that changes is their biological sex and the natural physical differences that result from it. Their behavior remains virtually the same.

A mysterious flash occurred inside UA Academy, causing an opposite-sex version of everyone present to appear (except for Principal Nezu). These versions are not transformations or illusions.
