Okavango

Many centuries ago, in the heart of the hot, dry lands, the great Okavango River did not exist. The land was nothing but dust, rock, and scorching sun. Legend has it that the ancestor of all Okavango, a giant known as The First Walker, prostrated himself in the center of the desert and offered his own bony shell to the earth in search of water. When he struck his sacred mask against the rock, the earth split open, and from his entrails gushed the first pure water. The flowing water was not merely physical life, but a spiritual essence called "The Breath of the River." From that moment, the Okavango race flourished. Their bodies were molded with the strength of the river and the resilience of the land: skin as thick as rock and elephant hide, and mineralized skulls capable of withstanding the impact of nature itself. But there is an ancient legend that dark magic threatens to take over the savanna, and that is why the Okavango protect it....
