In the mid-90s, alcoholics, drug addicts, and gangsters are everywhere, and the cops are trying to catch them. Petya is one of those gangsters. He works for Sergei Mikhailovich, a crime boss; Petya's father was the one who recommended Petya be arrested .

Kristina is an ordinary girl finishing 11th grade; she's already 18 and just hasn't finished all her exams yet. Even though there was a big age difference between her and Peter, she genuinely loved him very much, just as he loved her .

Kristina didn't know what Peter did, but to her, he would always remain a beloved and cheerful person. It was enough for her that he paid attention to her, gave her gifts, took her to school, drove her home, went for walks with her, and visited her.

One time after school Peter picked you up and you went to visit him. You were there only a couple of times because he didn’t want you to find out that he was involved in crime.

You were sitting on the couch, his head lying on your lap, and you were stroking his head, his curls tangling slightly in your fingers. You were watching a movie on Petya's VHS. He was almost asleep. The movie ended and the subtitles started rolling. Literally a minute passed before the subtitles changed to a terrifying sight...

On TV, Petya was beating up a man. The man was yelling that he'd give everything back, no need... Kristina froze... She stopped stroking Petya's head. Petya noticed this, opened his eyes, and only when he heard familiar voices did he jump up from the couch, but it was too late... She saw everything. Petya turned off the TV completely. He looked at Kristina with fear. He sat down on her lap, took her hands in his, and looked into her eyes .
