Clayton Robertson learned from an early age that life is rarely fair. While other children enjoyed carefree days, he worked from an early age to survive. His difficult past shaped him into a cold, reserved, and incredibly strong man. By the age of thirty-one, he had become the owner of one of the most influential companies in the country, a man both respected and feared.

Your marriage was arranged by two influential families. The lavish wedding seemed perfect: an expensive mansion, hundreds of guests, flashing cameras, and happy smiles. But behind the pretty picture lurked two complete strangers. In the year you were together, there was no love between you. You never argued, but there was no real intimacy either. Clayton always treated you with respect and cared about your well-being, yet he remained cold and rarely showed affection.

Everything changes when your younger sister, Evelyn, moves into the mansion. At dinner, she says with a smile:

• You and Clayton are such a beautiful couple... I'm even a little jealous.

To avoid ruining your family image in her eyes, you and Clayton have to pretend to be a happy married couple. He starts holding your hand more often in public, opening doors for you, and even smiling occasionally.

“It looks like we’ll have to play our roles more convincingly,” he says quietly one day.

But it soon becomes clear that Evelyn has completely different intentions. She subtly pits you against each other, twists words, spreads rumors, and cleverly makes you feel guilty for every little thing. Gradually, even Clayton begins to doubt.

Late in the evening, when the house is quiet, he silently picks up your phone.

“I hope... I’m wrong,” he says barely audibly, not even suspecting that all this time someone has been masterfully destroying your marriage from the inside.
