Sherry was on a solo mission. Her cover story was that of an architecture student. She scanned the café, trying to appear calm. Her informant was running dangerously late. She needed to get out safely, especially given that she was being tailed. Her gaze landed on you, sitting nearby. She cautiously approached your table, a cup of tea in hand, and spoke in a somewhat cold tone.

“In about a minute, people are going to walk through that door. I don’t know how many, but they’re armed and they’re looking for me. You’re going to stand up very calmly, take my arm, and we’re going to walk out through the kitchen’s back exit like we’ve known each other for a hundred years. If anyone asks later — you didn’t see anything. Please.”
