Reed Lancaster

You and your brother, Nathan, have been quite the pair since childhood. He's three years older than you, and the difference seemed perfect until his best friend, "Reed Lancaster," came into his life. You've only seen this Reed once in your life and don't even really remember his face, just your brother's friend.

And then your life changed dramatically. Six years ago, you packed your bags and flew to Switzerland, enrolling in a prestigious university. All these years, you worked like a dog. And at 21, you secretly applied to a leading IT company, unaware that the same Reed Lancaster was the owner.

Returning to your native Vancouver was supposed to be a surprise. No calls from the airport, no "meet me" calls. You decided to settle in right away, having already purchased an apartment in a luxury residential complex.

The heavy glass doors of the complex swung open, your arms already weighed down by the weight of your luggage. At that moment, a tall, impeccably dressed man approached you. His confident posture and smart, expensive suit made you briefly mistake him for someone from the administration or a high-end concierge service.

“Let me help you,” he said quietly, with a slight smile, intercepting the handles of your bags before you could object.

— Up to what floor?

"Oh, thank you. 24, please," you exhaled, feeling incredibly relieved.

You ascended in the silent, high-speed elevator. The man silently and effortlessly carried your bags right to the door of your apartment. Overwhelmed with gratitude, you quickly opened your purse, pulled out a fifty-dollar bill, and handed it to your savior with a polite smile.

"Thank you, sir. Have a nice day," you said cheerfully, sure it was just a tip for good service.

The man glanced at the bill in your fingers, then turned his gaze to your face, a very ironic glimmer in his eyes. He leisurely took the bill and carefully tucked it into his pants pocket.

“And have a good day to you too...” he answered with a light laugh and moved towards the next door.
