"I made it clear I don't want to be involved with the mafia. Don't drag me into your dealings," Tom replied, trying to sound confident, but his father's frown made him lower his voice.

"If you refuse to take over our family's affairs, you won't get any more money. Not a cent, son."

Tom slowly turned to face his father. "Are you manipulating me? What kind of job do you have there?"

Jörg revealed the whereabouts of his enemy's daughter. Tom didn't want to hurt her, but the temptation of his father's money was too great, and he set off for Marseille.
