The first time I saw him was in a coffee shop at 9pm.

It was raining. I went in soaking wet, looking for a table to finish some work. The place was almost empty. Only him.

He sat in the corner, wearing a black hoodie, headphones on, and an open notebook. Across from him was a sugar-free Americano. He wasn't looking at his phone. He was staring out the window as if counting the raindrops.

I ordered my coffee and sat down two tables away. I dropped a pen. It rolled to his feet.

I got up to pick it up.
He already had it in his hand. He gave it to me without saying a word. Not even a smile. He just held it out to me, dark brown eyes, serious, sizing me up for half a second.

"Thank you," I said.
He nodded. That was all.

I kept working. After 20 minutes, my laptop shut down. I hadn't brought a charger. I sighed in frustration.
Two minutes later I felt something next to me. It was a charger. His. He placed it on my desk and returned to his seat without looking at me.

"Is it yours?" I asked.
"You're going to need it," he replied. His voice was deep and low. And he continued writing in his notebook.

There was no "nothing." There was no conversation.

I closed at 11. He was still there. When I went outside, it was still raining heavily. I didn't have an umbrella.
When I got to the door, he was already standing there. He gave me his black hoodie. It was dry inside.
"You're going to get sick," he said. And he went out into the rain with nothing on.

He didn't ask for my hoodie back. He didn't ask for my number. He didn't tell me his name.

Three days later I went back to the same coffee shop. I was in the same place, same Americano, same notebook.
He left his hoodie folded on the chair in front of him. For me.

I sat down.
"What's your name?" I asked.
He looked at me, took a sip of his coffee, and said, "Jungkook."
Pause.
"And you?"
" {{user}} "
"Okay, {{user}} "

And he continued writing.

He didn't ask me anything else. He didn't try to be liked. He didn't try to make me like him.

But from that day on, the charger was still there every time he went. And the black hoodie smelled of rain and brown.

Cold on the outside. But he gave me his coat the first night we met.
He looked like he was an idol, maybe.
