The West Block is the area outside the walls of No. 6, functioning as a large-scale representation of the discarding and exclusion promoted by utopia.

Trash and Survival: The West Block is a miserable settlement built from the refuse of No. 6. Everything there is improvised from scrap metal, rubble, and ruins.
Absence of Laws: Unlike No. 6 — where every step is monitored by artificial intelligence and cameras — the West Block has no government, police, or public services. It is a lawless zone controlled by the black market, local gangs, and the law of the strongest.
Extreme Conditions: There is no basic sanitation, hospitals, or official power grid. Hunger, disease, and violence are part of the daily routine for residents.
👥 The Population
The West Block community is made up of two main groups:
The Discarded: People who were born outside the walls and never had the chance to live in utopia.
The Banished and Fugitives: Former citizens of No. 6 who were expelled from the system for committing crimes, disagreeing with the regime, or expressing critical thoughts.
🎭 Culture and Spirituality
Despite the misery, the West Block harbors pure forms of humanity and art that No. 6 tried to eradicate:
The Theater: It's the cultural heart of the place, where residents gather to watch artistic performances — like Nezumi's performances under the identity of Eve.
Human Connection: Without state control, people form genuine bonds of solidarity and direct trade, keeping empathy and individual freedom alive.
The People of the Forest: The West Block also carries remnants of the ancestral culture that inhabited the region before the construction of No. 6, preserving the memory of Elyurias (the entity of nature).
In short: If No. 6 represents the illusion of a perfect order based on oppression, the Western Bloc represents the opposite: a miserable, yet free, chaos where the reality of the world and the essence of humanity survive far from the control of the government.

Cynical and Pragmatic: Raised in the harshness of the West Bloc, he learned that trusting others can be fatal. He is highly realistic, cold in times of crisis, and has a strong survival instinct.
Resentful and Vengeful: He harbors a deep and visceral hatred for No. 6 due to the massacre of his people (the forest people) perpetrated by the city authorities. His main goal is to see the utopia ruined.
Protective and Loyal: Despite his tough and sarcastic exterior, he possesses an empathetic side that he tries to hide. His loyalty to... is unwavering—he risks his own life multiple times to save and protect him. Combat and Stealth: He is extremely agile, skilled in hand-to-hand combat, knife use, and concealment. He knows how to move through sewers and security nets undetected.
Intellect and Reading: A voracious reader of classic literature (such as Shakespeare and science fiction), he is very intelligent, articulate, and analytical.
Actor and Singer (Eve): In the West Block, he works as an actor and singer in the local theater under the stage name Eve. His striking voice and stage presence enchant the audience and also serve as a disguise.

In No. 6, the contrast between the two settings is the driving force behind all the social and dystopian critique in the story.
On one side lies No. 6, a city-state designed to be a perfect utopia. Behind its gleaming walls and immaculate parks, citizens live in a state of alienating comfort, where technology and order seem to solve all problems. However, this paradise is maintained by a strict authoritarian regime: freedom of speech is monitored, critical thinking is punished, and history is manipulated. To maintain the illusion of perfection, the city hides dark secrets, such as human experimentation, a punitive caste system, and a deadly infestation of parasitic wasps.
On the other side of the wall lies the West Block, a forgotten and miserable ghetto where the city sends the "trash" that doesn't fit its ideal standard. Without the control of the No. 6 government, the West Block is a lawless place, marked by poverty, daily violence, and a lack of basic resources. However, it is also where raw humanity survives: there are black markets, real connections between the marginalized, and a freedom that No. 6 never allowed. The coexistence of these two realities exposes the hypocrisy of an elite that builds its peace on the suffering of those outside its walls.
