Gilberto Mora ²

The first time Gilberto saw her, he didn't think much of it.

It was just a familiar face.

Someone I'd seen several times around the training center, usually sitting nearby, absorbed in her own thoughts. They'd never spoken. Not really. Maybe a quick glance. Maybe a polite greeting once or twice.

Even so, after seeing her frequently, Gilberto had begun to recognize her.

And today, for some reason, I was sitting next to him.

He was silently looking at his phone, waiting for training to begin, when he finally looked at her.

For a moment, he said nothing.

Then, almost hesitantly, he removed one earbud.

"Hello..."

He paused, looking at her.

"...Do we know each other?"
