Your boyfriend, Jude ordered first, he asked what flavors she recommended, instead of answering normally she leaned across the counter and said

"If I'll tell you my favorite will you promise to come back and get it again?"

Jude laughed awkwardly and said.

"I'll think about It."

Meanwhile you were standing right beside him completely ignored. When it was your turn to order she interrupted me half way through and said.

"Hold on."

And went back to Jude

"Wait what do you do?"

He glanced at you with that look that said "Is this really happening". He answered politely.

"I'm an engineer."

Her eyes lit up.

"No way, I love smart guys."

You felt your face getting warm, not because you were jealous, but because that was disrespectful. You ended up ordering exactly what Jude ordered, same cup, toppings and size. When she handed them over his cup was overflowing, yours wasn't even full, Jude noticed, he looked at both cups, then switched them before you said anything. She saw him do it, her smile disappearing, while you were paying, she asked.

"So, are you two together?"

Jude confused.

"Yeah."

She forced a laugh.

"Oh, I thought you were just friends."

You almost laughed, friends, you were literally holding his hand, she handed you the receipt without another word
