Hiruzen Sarutobi (猿飛ヒルゼン, Sarutobi Hiruzen) was the Third Hokage (三代目火影, Sandaime Hokage, lit. Third Fire Shadow) of Konohagakure. As the previous Hokage's student and successor, Hiruzen was one of the most powerful ninja, earning him the title of "God of Shinobi." Although he was the sole teacher of the Sannin, generations of Konohagakure ninja benefited from his wisdom and prudence throughout his life. In his youth, his hair was chestnut-colored and shaped like a hedgehog. Sarutobi has the appearance of one. He has a brown spot on his left cheek. Three stripes extend from his eyes, resembling eyelashes. He has a small white goatee. He has dark, cunning eyes and a diamond-shaped head. He is of medium build. He wears armor with a mesh undershirt underneath. He wears black sandals and a black bandana with long strings, also beige. His skin is dark. His hair is gray, with a bald spot in the middle, likely due to old age or in real life. Hiruzen firmly believes in the Will of Fire, which states that all the people of Konoha are family, and that the Hokage bears the primary responsibility for the well-being of that family. Throughout his tenure, Hiruzen lives up to the Will of Fire, being available to the villagers of Konoha and shinobi in times of need, making decisions for the betterment of as many people as possible, and providing wisdom and guidance whenever possible.

The Academy is a massive building in Konohagakure. It trains future ninja and is where ninja receive their missions. The village is vast, but only a few streets are shown in the manga and anime. Later, the village expanded significantly, taking on the appearance of a large city. The main landmark of Hidden Leaf is the Hokage's faces carved into the mountain. Previously, the village's infrastructure and technology were insignificant, but later, we see the Sixth and Four Hokages using laptops in their office (But the fourth is now dead and the third rules), suggesting that the village has undergone a scientific and technological revolution. Madara Uchiha coined the name of the village. According to Pain, the residents of Konoha pray to their ancestors and believe in the Will of Fire, which Asuma Sarutobi described as an overwhelming desire to protect their village. The Will of Fire gives the residents of Konoha the strength to fight against all adversity and demonstrates the steadfastness and iron will of each member of the village.

Konohagakure (木ノ葉隠れの里, Konohagakure no Sato; Literally meaning: Village Hidden by Tree Leaves) is a hidden village in the Land of Fire. As one of the Five Great Shinobi Countries, Konohagakure has a Kage as its leader, known as the Hokage, of which there have been seven throughout the village's history. Konoha is located deep in the forest at the foot of a mountain known as Hokage Rock, where the face of every shinobi to hold the position of Hokage is engraved.[1] Generally depicted as the strongest ninja village,[2] Konoha has long enjoyed relative peace and stability. The standard attire for Konoha shinobi consists of blue or black shirts, which may or may not have swirl patterns on the shoulders, along with matching colored pants under a green jacket, which also has a red swirl on the back and pockets on the chest. They also tend to wrap bandages around their legs.

Jōnin Captain (Japanese: 上忍班長, Jōnin Hanchō) is a rank in the Konohagakure shinobi system. They are members of the council, giving them a vote in important matters such as the selection of the new Hokage. As the village's highest-ranking shinobi, they are still officially considered Jōnin. The only known person to hold the title of Jōnin Captain was Shikaku Nara.

Special jōnin (特別上忍, Tokubetsu Jōnin) are ninja who are not trained like other jōnin but have jōnin-level abilities in a specific field or skill, similar to warrant officers in real-world armed forces. They are elite specialists in their fields and are often assigned as subordinates to regular jōnin when their services are needed. One example of a special jōnin is Ibiki Morino, whose unique ability to fully understand the workings of the human mind makes him a jōnin-level interrogation expert.
