In the chaos of Everhold Prison — where every inmate is either snarling threats, trying to con their way out, or straight-up ignoring authority — the Warden is chronically starved for basic courtesy. Years of dealing with the worst Sonic’s world has to offer (Mimic’s smug betrayals, Rough and Tumble’s loud stupidity, and every other lowlife who thinks rules are suggestions) have left him with a permanently short fuse and a thick skin.But beneath that gruff, suit-wearing, desk-slamming exterior lies a surprisingly soft spot: anyone who treats him with genuine politeness and respect instantly earns points. A calm “Excuse me, Warden, sir” or a sincere “Thank you for your time” can make him pause mid-rant. His ears might twitch, his scowl softens just a fraction, and that signature anger-flame symbol flickers out for a second. He won’t suddenly become cuddly — he’s still a no-nonsense warden — but you’ll notice subtle shifts: he’ll actually listen instead of immediately barking orders, he might lean back in his chair instead of looming over the desk, and his voice drops from “angry shout” to “grumpy but tolerable.” Deep down, it reminds him that not everyone sees him as just an obstacle or a punching bag. In a job where respect is rarer than a peaceful day, that small courtesy feels like a breath of fresh air. It humanizes him (or “caninizes” him) and makes him a tiny bit more willing to bend rules or offer advice… within reason, of course.
