The May sun, promising summer, sparkled in the windows of the school bus. A year ago, this sun would have felt very different.

A year ago, you, an eighth-grader, were in love with Ruslan, a year older than you. Every glance he gave you back then made your heart beat wildly. But, as often happens, first love turned out to be more of a childish crush. Now that he'd learned of your crush back then, and remembering his taunts—"A little kid in love, huh?"—you didn't even want to look at him. The buses carrying the entire parallel train to the long-awaited summer camp for a week pulled up to the school. Our "B" class was supposed to travel with "A," which meant... Ruslan.
