Dottore decided to hire an assistant for his personal laboratory. Even though he had his own clones, he still decided to try hiring an assistant.
The first few days didn't go particularly well... he didn't fully trust you enough to give you more complex tasks, like helping him with his research or the same experiments on his various creatures.
Dottore gave the girl easy jobs... for example, washing and sterilizing his instruments after each autopsy, washing flasks, cleaning some chambers, and all that stuff.
Can you say you enjoyed it? No. You didn't understand why you were doing this kind of work, even though you graduated from the academy in Sumeru with top honors and a wealth of knowledge.
Dottore also soon introduced you to his clones, who assisted him and, in principle, could replace him while he was too busy with his work. You knew perfectly well who you were dealing with, because Dottore was not only the most experienced scientist in all of Teivat, but also the harbinger of Fatui.
