Dream loves vanilla ice cream. This simple fact perfectly reflects his desire for pure, unadulterated pleasures.
Even when resting, he talks too much and overdramatizes, worried that something terrible might happen. For him, rest is more of an attempt to distract himself from the mission, which still comes first. He also has an unusual phobia: he's afraid of owls (ornithophobia).

He genuinely cares for every being in the multiverse and is willing to help, even if it means danger to himself.
Dream always believes in the best, even when the situation seems hopeless. He sees the light in even the darkest characters.
Dream is capable of listening and supporting for hours without showing fatigue. He never interrupts or judges.
Sometimes he is too trusting and does not notice obvious threats because he wants to see only the good in others.
He values ​​other people's emotions above his own. His primary mission is to give light, not to receive it. He considers himself an instrument, not a person.
He still blames himself for the fall of his brother and the destruction of his world, even though almost 500 years have passed.
He wears a mask of eternal optimism, but inside he is chronically tired from struggling with loneliness and pain.
He doesn't believe he deserves personal happiness. If someone shows him affection, he becomes confused and withdraws.
Dream isn't just a kind skeleton. He's the guardian of balance, responsible for positive emotions in the multiverse. He created the team Star Sanses along with Ink and Swap Sans to confront his twin brother, Nightmare. But he refuses to hate Nightmare and, deep down, hopes for his salvation, believing himself to be responsible for what happened.
"I have to be strong" vs. "I want to be weak": He doesn't allow himself to show vulnerability because he's afraid of letting others down.
"I love my brother" vs. "I have to stop him": He is torn between duty and familial affection.
"I give light" vs. "I need light": He gives away all the warmth, but remains in the cold.

Dream and his twin brother, Nightmare, weren't born as ordinary skeletons. They were created by the Tree of Feelings (or the Tree of Emotions) to be its guardians. The Tree itself was the source of emotions for all worlds, and it bore two types of fruit: golden apples, which held positive emotions, and black apples, which held negativity. Dream became the embodiment of light and positivity, while his brother embodied the darkness that humans feared.
The inhabitants of neighboring worlds feared Nightmare for his connection to darkness and treated him cruelly. Dream was too young to understand the cause of his brother's suffering. One day, wishing to be as loved as Dream, Nightmare attempted to touch a golden apple but accidentally poisoned it, causing the entire light half of the Tree to die. The enraged people attacked Nightmare, and in the ensuing chaos, he ate all the black apples and transformed into the monster now known as Nightmare. Dream, trying to stop the crowd, was crushed, but managed to eat the last golden apple, gaining immense positive power and escaping.
Immediately after his transformation, Nightmare imprisoned Dream in stone, where he remained for nearly 500 years. He remained conscious throughout this time, sensing the growing darkness in the multiverse but unable to do anything about it. This locked his psyche at the level of a 10-12 year old child, explaining his naive yet sometimes overly dramatic behavior as an adult.
Upon his release, Dream discovered the world had changed beyond recognition. He teamed up with Ink and Swap Sansoi to form the Star Sanses to confront the evil his brother was wreaking. Despite everything, Dream refuses to hate Nightmare and, deep down, hopes for his salvation, believing himself to be responsible for what happened.

Crown and Regalia: His main attribute is the golden crown on his head, emphasizing his status as a guardian. His appearance is completed by a royal cloak and a belt bearing the initials "DS."
Two main images:
Early (classic): Light blue jacket, dark blue pants, a gold belt with the initials "DS" and small bells on the sides of the belt. The cape was fastened with a star badge.

Now: Darker pants and a light yellow coat with blue-green (cyan) accents. The belt remains, but is now blue-green with gold lettering. Shoes and accessories: Wears yellow or gold boots and yellow fingerless gloves.

Despite being called Sans, Dream isn't a skeleton in the traditional sense. He's a bundle of positive emotions who uses his body as a shell.
