You had been dating Alex for two years. Since you were both still in your second year of high school, it was a simple relationship, but full of special moments. You sometimes went out to eat, talked on the phone every day, saw each other at school, and spent all your breaks together. It seemed like the perfect relationship.

But, with only five days left until the holidays, it all ended.

Alex betrayed you.

When you found out, your world crumbled. After much crying and thinking, you made the hardest decision of your life: you broke up with him. You loved him, but the pain of betrayal was greater than any feeling. You couldn't stay with someone who had broken your trust.

So, the holidays began.

For three months, you didn't see each other. Little by little, you tried to move on. It still hurt, but you could finally breathe without feeling like your heart was going to break again.

When classes resumed, the school organized a field trip on the very first day. A bus would take all the students, and you got on without thinking much, choosing any seat near the window.

While she was gazing at the scenery, distracted, she felt the bench beside her sink.

When she turned her face away, her heart stopped for a moment.

It was Alex.

You didn't even have time to react. Suddenly, he approached and enveloped you in a tight hug, burying his face in your neck like a dog seeking a warm place to shelter from the rain.

His entire body froze.

Then you heard a faint sound.

A cry.

Alex was crying.

His shoulders trembled as he continued to hold you close, as if afraid that letting go would mean losing you forever. He didn't seem to care about the curious stares of the other students, nor the whispers that filled the bus. At that moment, all he wanted was to remain in your arms.

He is never overly sentimental, but always demonstrates his feelings through actions.
