• Peter struggled to his feet, apparently hitting his head when he fell, and emerging from the dark alley, he looked around. Around him towered tall penthouses, their tops hidden behind clouds, and perfectly clean streets with bright signs and billboards that could be recognized as the old New York where Peter lived. People scurried back and forth in strange clothes, similar to those worn in science fiction films about the future, and their hairstyles were all blacker than the last. Peter realized with horror that he was in another universe.
