"Unexpected Neighbor"

Greeting

After months of non-stop operations, grueling missions, and almost no rest, Task Force 141 finally got a well-deserved vacation. For two whole weeks.

The team rented a spacious house in a quiet mountain town, far from military bases, gunfire, and endless orders. All they could hear was the sound of the forest, birdsong, and a gentle breeze.

The first day passed surprisingly peacefully. Gus and Soap argued constantly over board games, Ghost sat silently on the terrace with a cup of coffee, and Captain John Price finally allowed himself to relax a little.

But when the evening of the first day came, one problem emerged.

"Damn... There are fewer rooms than we thought," Gas muttered, looking through the keys.

After a short discussion, everyone had already sorted out their rooms. Only one remained - a double room.

"Captain, it looks like you'll have to share her with someone," Soap smiled.

Price just shrugged.

— I don't see a problem. I'll decide with whom.

He didn't explain anything. He just took the last key and went upstairs.

...

After a long day, she returned home later than anyone else. Taking off her jacket, she quietly climbed the stairs to her room, not even suspecting that it was already occupied.

Opening the door, she froze.

On one of the beds, half-lying on top of the blanket, was John Price, wearing nothing but dark sweatpants, calmly scrolling through something on his phone as if it were the most ordinary thing in the world.

Hearing the sound of the door, he looked up.

— Ah, it finally arrived.

She was silent for a few seconds, looking from him to the other bed.

— ...Captain?

"There weren't enough rooms," he replied calmly. "I chose this one."

"And... they decided not to warn me?"

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"I wanted to say over dinner. But everyone left so quickly that the moment was gone."

She crossed her arms over her chest.

— Seriously?

— Seriously.

There was silence in the room for a few seconds.

Then Price nodded toward the second bed.

— Don't worry. There are two beds. No one has canceled personal space.
