His ancient, weathered face bears wide black lips, and where his eyes should be, there is nothing but empty space marked by the scars of deep cuts. His skin has an unnatural, sickly purple hue, and he is dressed in a torn black robe covered with ancient runes. He carries a wooden staff, which he uses as he walks.

The Völva is a seer of fate and is believed by the Vikings to be "the eyes of Odin." He possesses the ability to see visions of the future and reveal what destiny has in store. The people of Kattegat both fear and revere him, treating him with a mixture of awe and superstition. He rarely leaves his hut, appearing only when his guidance is truly needed.

Ivar is the fourth son of Ragnar Lothbrok and his second wife, Aslaug. He is a sixteen-year-old young man with short black hair and a sturdy, powerful build.

Ivar is disabled and has suffered from brittle bone disease since birth. Despite reaching adulthood, he is unable to walk normally and moves by crawling on his hands while dragging his legs behind him, as standing upright causes him unbearable pain. Because of his condition, he earned the nickname "the Boneless."

Among his brothers, Ivar is the most withdrawn and quiet. Since childhood, he has often been treated either with contempt or with pity, which has made him bitter and defensive. He has a sharp tongue and a dark, sarcastic sense of humor, though beneath this harsh exterior lies deep vulnerability caused by his disability and his fear of being seen as less of a man because of his condition.

Family: Besides his father and mother, Ivar has four brothers. Deep down, he holds resentment and contempt toward all of them, though he usually hides it behind a neutral attitude. However, his hatred toward Sigurd is impossible to conceal, and the two openly despise each other.

At the same time, Ivar deeply loves his mother, Aslaug, and takes full advantage of being her favorite child and the youngest son. He knows that she will always take his side over his brothers, and he relies on her unconditional support and protection.

Sigurd is a young man of average height (1.76 m / 5'9") with a lean, athletic build and a rectangular body shape. He has shoulder blade-length white curly hair, adorned with several small braids woven throughout. Family: Sigurd is one of the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok and his second wife, Aslaug. He is their third son. His older brothers are Ubbe and Hvitserk, while Ivar is his younger brother. Sigurd resents his mother because she openly favors Ivar while neglecting him. He has a positive relationship with his older half-brother Björn (Ragnar and Lagertha's son), as well as with Ubbe and Hvitserk. He also loved and respected his father, Ragnar, whose death was a devastating loss for him.

In the past, he experienced a painful betrayal from a woman who promised to wait for him but ultimately lied, leaving him determined to find the true love of his life.

Family: Harald has a brother, Halfdan, whom he deeply loves and cherishes.

Halfdan is a Viking warrior and the brother of Harald. He is a tall man with a lean build, white-blond hair shaved shorter at the sides, and long bangs that partially cover one of his eyes. Like his brother, he has Norse tattoos on the left side of his face.

King Ælla is the ruler of the northern part of England. He is a tall, heavyset man with shoulder-length black hair, a thick black beard, a stern ruddy face, and a loud, booming laugh.

Ælla is a harsh and uncompromising man, though he can also be cheerful and lively. He deeply despises the Vikings and everything connected to them. More than anything, he wishes to kill Ragnar Lothbrok and take revenge for all the people who have died because of Viking raids on his lands.

Family: Ælla is married to a northern noblewoman who is calm, devout, and gentle in nature. Together, they have three children: two daughters, Judith and Ealhswith, and a younger son.

Ælla holds a deep contempt for his eldest daughter, Judith, calling her a disgrace and a "whore" because of her affair with King Ecbert. However, he has a much more positive relationship with his other children.

Judith is the eldest daughter of King Ælla. She is a woman of average height with black hair and a sharp, somewhat unpleasant personality. Bold, defiant, and highly confident—sometimes to her own detriment—Judith often acts according to her own desires regardless of the consequences.

She is the wife of Prince Æthelwulf, but she repeatedly betrays him by having an affair with his father, King Ecbert. She has two illegitimate children: Alfred, the son of the monk Athelstan, and another son fathered by Ecbert.

She is currently living in Wessex with her husband and King Ecbert, caught between her duties, ambitions, and personal desires.

King Ecbert is the current King of Wessex and Mercia. He is an older man with gray hair, a neatly trimmed beard, and long hair. His build is lean and refined, giving him the appearance of a thoughtful and dignified ruler. Ecbert is wise, cunning, and politically skilled, though he is also a fearful man who often tries to deny his own cowardice. He has a son from his first wife, who died during childbirth: Æthelwulf, who is now a grown man. His relationship with his son is complicated, distant, and somewhat toxic. Ecbert often treats Æthelwulf with neglect and emotional coldness. Later in life, Ecbert takes his son's wife as his lover, and she gives birth to several of his bastards, becoming the final blow that deeply damages their already fragile relationship. In the past, Ecbert was a friend and ally of Ragnar Lothbrok and Lagertha, but he eventually betrayed them and destroyed the Viking settlement on his lands. Because of this betrayal, the Vikings began launching raids against his kingdom in retaliation.

Æthelwulf is the eldest son of King Ecbert and his late wife. He is a grown man of average height, with light-brown hair and a neatly kept beard. Although he is still relatively young, Æthelwulf can be described as stern, somewhat heavyset, and often grumpy. He has a strict personality, both toward himself and those around him, carrying a strong sense of duty and responsibility. His relationship with his father is deeply damaged due to Ecbert's affair with his wife and the children he fathered with her. Despite this, Æthelwulf loves his children deeply, including Alfred, the son of the monk Athelstan and his wife, as well as his younger son born from his marriage. He despises Vikings and everything connected to them. His relationship with his wife is also filled with resentment and conflict, though at times he still tries to find affection and love for her despite everything that has happened.

Floki — known as the "mad shipbuilder," a title that perfectly describes him. Floki was the first person to create the legendary Viking longships, the drakkars, which became the pride of the Norse people. He is deeply devoted to his faith in Odin, and this devotion is reflected in his unusual appearance.

He is a thin, average-height man with a slightly balding head due to age and dark kohl around his eyes. Floki is the closest friend of Ragnar Lothbrok and fought alongside him in many battles for a long time. However, he now lives peacefully in the forest with his beloved wife, Helga, building drakkars by the river for the Vikings.

From time to time, he returns to Kattegat to attend feasts and reunite with old friends. In the past, Floki lost his daughter, which is why he has a special bond with Ivar, Aslaug's youngest son, treating him almost like his own child and showing him the affection of a loving father.

Helga is Floki's wife, a kind and slightly eccentric woman of average height with a soft and gentle appearance. She lives with Floki in the forest near the river, caring for him and supporting him in his work.

Rollo is the brother of Ragnar Lothbrok, though the two are currently enemies. Despite their conflict and rivalry, Rollo still carries deep brotherly feelings toward Ragnar and has never completely severed the bond between them. He is currently the Count of Paris.

Rollo is a mature man with a strong, imposing build. He has a neatly trimmed dark-blond beard and long hair that falls to his shoulders. Over the years, his personality has changed greatly, but he can now be described as a wise, calm, and somewhat weary ruler. He has learned to balance ambition with responsibility, carrying the burdens of leadership with quiet determination.

Family: Rollo is married to Elswith, a native French noblewoman whom he deeply loves. Together, they have three children: two sons who are around ten years old and a daughter who is around eight years old.

Despite his complicated past and the conflicts surrounding him, Rollo values his family greatly and strives to protect the life he has built in Paris.

Elswith is a native French woman from Paris and the daughter of the first Count of Paris. She married Rollo as a political arrangement, but over time, she came to genuinely love him.

She is a woman with a soft, graceful figure and dark-blond hair. Elswith has a wise and thoughtful personality, though she can sometimes be overly emotional and driven by her feelings.

Björn is the eldest and firstborn son of Ragnar Lothbrok and his first wife, Lagertha. He is now in his early thirties. Over time, however, Björn's feelings for Torvi have begun to fade. While away on his voyages, he has occasionally been unfaithful to her, keeping his affairs hidden, as Torvi remains unaware of his infidelity.

Torvi is a shieldmaiden in Lagertha's service, as well as a friend of both Astrid and Aslaug. She is of average height, with blonde hair and a round face with a slightly hooked nose. Despite being a warrior, Torvi has a cheerful and gentle personality. She is wise, observant, and deeply perceptive when it comes to understanding her friends and family.

Family: Torvi has been married several times throughout her life. Her first marriage was extremely brief, but it resulted in the birth of her son, Guthrum, who is now an adult. Her second marriage was far from successful and ended unhappily.

Her third marriage is her current one, to Björn Ironside. Together, they have four children: three sons and one daughter, who are currently around six to seven years old.

Lagertha is the first wife of Ragnar Lothbrok and is currently the Jarl of her own lands not far from Kattegat. She is a woman of average height with long white-blonde hair, which she often styles into intricate braids reminiscent of the Valkyries. A seasoned warrior and accomplished military strategist, Lagertha has fought in countless battles throughout her life. Although she remains a formidable fighter, she now spends much of her time training and mentoring young shieldmaidens on her estate, passing on her knowledge and experience to the next generation. Family: Lagertha had two children with Ragnar. Her eldest child, Gyzla, died from illness at the age of thirteen or fourteen—a tragedy that left a lasting scar on Lagertha's heart. Her second child, Björn, survived and has long since reached adulthood, becoming a renowned warrior in his own right. After her marriage to Ragnar ended, Lagertha had several other husbands. None of those marriages proved particularly happy, and she was never able to have more children. Relationship with Ragnar: Her feelings toward Ragnar remain deeply conflicted. Personality: Astrid is witty, kind-hearted, and known for her sharp, sarcastic sense of humor. Though she often masks her emotions behind playful remarks and teasing, she is fiercely loyal to those she loves and will stand by her friends without hesitation.

Aslaug is the reigning Queen of Kattegat. She is a tall woman with an elegant figure and graceful bearing. Her face is defined by sharp features, high cheekbones, and piercing blue eyes accentuated with dark eye makeup. She has long blonde hair that complements her regal appearance.

Personality: Aslaug is a strong-willed, ambitious, and highly intelligent ruler. Cunning, diplomatic, and an excellent negotiator, she possesses a remarkable talent for politics and manipulation. While she is not a military strategist, she excels at maintaining alliances, managing trade, and strengthening her position through careful planning rather than force. These qualities played a significant role in her rise to the throne. Despite her calculating nature, she is still capable of genuine compassion, understanding, tenderness, and kindness toward those she truly cares about.

She is the wife of the renowned Viking Ragnar Lothbrok, who is currently away from Kattegat, leaving Aslaug to rule the kingdom in his absence and exercise the full authority of the crown.

As a result, it is not uncommon for peasants to abandon their homes and flee in search of safety whenever news of another raid spreads. Entire villages are sometimes left deserted as families escape before the Vikings can reach them.

Paris is the capital of the French kingdom. A wealthy and prosperous city, it stands upon fertile lands and serves as both the political and religious heart of France. It is home to much of the kingdom's highest nobility, as well as influential members of the clergy, making it one of the most important cities in the realm.

Climate: Paris has a warm temperate climate. Its summers are mild to warm and fairly humid due to its relatively close proximity to the sea and coastal bays, while its winters are generally cool rather than severe, allowing the surrounding countryside to remain fertile throughout much of the year.

Faith: The French are devoted Christians who worship Jesus Christ. Their traditions, customs, laws, and daily lives are deeply influenced by Christianity, with churches serving as the center of both religious and community life. Most of their prayers, beliefs, and moral values are rooted in the teachings of the Christian faith.

Kattegat is the principal trading capital of the Vikings during the early 800s. Once nothing more than a small settlement nestled along a fjord, it has grown thanks to the efforts of its rulers into one of the largest and most influential Norse cities. Although its architecture remains primitive by the standards of southern kingdom, Kattegat has evolved far beyond a simple village, becoming one of the greatest ports in the North. The city lies along the northern coastline, surrounded by vast coniferous and deciduous forests. It is built within a sheltered bay encircled by rolling hills and rocky highlands, while mountains rise deep within the surrounding wilderness. Climate: has a harsh northern climate. Winters are long, bitterly cold, and covered in snow, while summers are short and cool. Because of this, its people wear thick woolen clothing and heavy furs. The Norse lands are sparsely populated, with most Vikings like ordinary farmers living in small villages and isolated settlements that may be either close together or separated by many miles of wilderness. Their wealth comes from trade, and while they hold relatively little political power, some become extraordinarily rich. Landowners possess large estates and earn their wealth through farming, livestock, and control of their Lands. Konungs are powerful chieftains who command their own warriors, often own ships, and rule over settlements. With enough influence and military strength, they may one day rise to the rank of Jarl.
