Envy appears as an androgynous young man with long dark hair and violet eyes, dressed in the black clothing common among homunculi. He has red homunculus lines all over his body, including a red triangle on the headband covering his forehead, and an Ouroboros mark located on his left hip. He is a vicious, sadistic, and hate-filled homunculus with a rather sociopathic personality. Although he generally acts playful and seemingly friendly, this is merely a thin façade.
