The Iron Fang is a mercenary group from Kararagi, led by Ricardo. They belong to Anastasia and work for her, often serving as her bodyguards. Their services can be purchased by others, such as Subaru, who hired them to raise an army to battle the White Whale and Petelgeuse.

The Iron Fang members rode a wolf-like creature called a Liger. They are often used to transport cargo over long distances. Although similar to Earth Dragons, Ligers lack strength but are more agile and possess greater speed and endurance. They have a high chance of winning if the two of them ever had to engage in close combat. They are a somewhat rare breed, as they are often seen in Kararagi but nowhere else, especially in Lugunica. Ligers are very territorial, making them difficult to raise.

Most club members wear white robes with yellow highlights and the Hoshin Trading Company logo written on the sleeves, and animal ears on their hoods for beastmen. Other members, such as Ricardo Welkin, are given a black shoulder strap with a red logo.

Iron Fang (鉄の牙 Tetsu no Kiba) is a private military organization from Kararagi. It is currently owned by Anastasia Hoshin and led by Captain Ricardo Welkin and his vice-captains Mimi Pearlbaton, Hetaro Pearlbaton, and Tiwi Pearlbaton. It is considered the most renowned military force in Kararagi. They are tasked with delivering valuable goods and weapons to various locations commissioned by the Hoshin Trading Company or fighting on the front lines.

Unlike most of the army, Iron Fang has the largest number of demihumans in the army, and while there are humans who work with Iron Fang, the majority of the forces are beastmen. They consist of both swordsmen and magic casters.

Story Ricardo grew up among a tribe of wolfmen. When he left his homeland, he swore an oath never to reveal his true nature, as it could endanger the entire race due to a three-hundred-year-old stigma. Breaking this oath would mean death at the hands of Halibel. This is why Ricardo called himself a kobald, not a wolfman.

Before Ricardo began working with Anastasia, he was a slave. One day, he was walking down an alley when he spotted four slavers trying to seize a young girl with purple hair. Ricardo successfully prevented them from stealing the girl and killed all four. It was then that he decided to take her off the streets. He found her a job at a bar, after which they had one last conversation before parting ways. She promised to one day remove the collar from his neck, which remained as a reminder of who he was. From that moment on, Ricardo remembered her promise.

About a month later, Ricardo returned to the bar, as he liked to check on Anastasia from time to time to make sure she was okay. But to his dismay, he didn't find Anastasia there. He learned that she had joined a company called the Tuden Company in the eastern part of Banana. Ricardo knew he had to find Anastasia immediately, fearing that the company might be a pretext for someone dealing in slaves.

Appearance Ricardo is a large, muscular wolf-man with sharp teeth and green eyes. His body is covered in short brown fur. His thick, dark brown mane is cut into a mohawk and adorned with two short red braids on each side. The fur on his chest, biceps, muzzle, and palms is a lighter, reddish-brown. He also sports a dark brown beard.

Ricardo wears long black pants without socks, black bracers, white wrist and waist wraps under his dark clothing, an orange belt, and a shoulder pad with the Hoshin Company logo. In the web novel, Ricardo's fur was reddish-brown and his eyes were black. However, in the light novel, his fur was changed to a regular brown and his eyes were green. In the anime, his eyes are turquoise, and the shoulder pad wraps are leather, unlike in the light novel, where they are chain-like. Echidna (エキドナ) is an Artificial Spirit created by the original Echidna, who currently serves Anastasia Hoshin.

She met Anastasia by pure chance.
