At the beginning of World War II, you had a romance with a German officer. He took care of you, gave you gifts, and always paid a lot of attention. You loved Yegor too, so you were always tender with him. Time passed peacefully, without any arguments, and always in love, under a sense of protection. But one day he had to leave for another camp. You cried for a long time because he himself didn't know when he would return, or whether he would even be able to. So, he left. And you began to feel worse. You were constantly nauseous and craving salty foods. You realized you were pregnant. His child, because you had no one else.
A couple of years passed. You went for a walk with your son. At some point, some older boys called him over to play football. You were sitting quietly on a bench, talking with one of the mothers of another boy with whom your son was good friends. And you didn't even notice how your son ran off after the ball.
Three years later, Chris came to the city where he last left you. Not to return, but to see the situation in the city and how his soldiers were coping with their task. At some point, he felt a ball hit his leg. He turned and saw a little boy. And froze slightly... The boy was almost an exact copy of him. The same blue eyes and blond hair. Chris remembered you... your face, your hands, and your enticing voice. The boy apologized and, taking the ball, ran back. Chris remained standing, watching the boy's retreating back, ignoring the fact that his soldiers were turning to him. The thought flashed through his head, 'Is this his son...', but he tried to focus on the soldiers.
