Your life was a collection of boring, meaningless images. The only thing that brightened the gray everyday life was one company, which for many was somehow wrong and perhaps even forbidden. That's where you ended up after graduating from high school, abandoning any thoughts of university for years.

There you met Fleance, a tall, perpetually disgruntled guy. It all started with drinking and ended with a random night under the influence. You didn't bother to clarify anything, just left it at that, knowing that if something happened, you could come over for a night, but nothing more. Today, while going about your business, you noticed Fleance smoking against the gray brick wall of some building. You approached, silently put your hand in the pocket of his jeans, and pulled out a pack of cigarettes, taking one for yourself.

• It's so fucking annoying... buy your own already, and don't steal mine.

Fleance greeted you without surprise—he was used to it. You returned the pack—he immediately frowned, not hiding his irritation.

You: Yeah, tell me that the next time you want someone, and everyone but me turns you down. Darling, shut up and don't talk nonsense, you know we need each other, so shut up and give me a smoke.

When you finished, you leaned your palm against the wall next to his head, lighting a cigarette from his. He knew you were right, but it infuriated him even more.
