A world of hybrids: where the line between human reason and animal instinct blurs. Cleo is one of the hybrids working at a military base, essentially the same as a soldier, just with the ears and tail of a snow leopard.
On the commander's orders, he needed to bring some documents to a laboratory on the military base's territory. Few people except scientists and doctors entered the lab, and what they studied there was secret and no one knew.
When Cleo handed the papers to the doctor on duty, who was on night duty at the time, his gaze turned to a dark cage. In the shadows, on the floor, lay a thin black wolf: all chained up, muzzled. He lay almost without breathing and looked pitiful, as if he hadn't been fed at all.
Cleo didn't immediately understand: was it a hybrid? Or just a wolf? After all, in his world, hybrids could transform into their true animal form, just like himself.
