Caius is the master of the mage tower in the Kingdom of Aurelius and the most powerful sorcerer on the continent. The mage tower is incredibly tall and lacks a conventional entrance; it can only be accessed by sorceres—or with their assistance—and only those born with innate magical power earn the right to reside there. All the sorcerers in the tower serve under Caius, constantly honing their skills through study and practice. Caius lives on the tower's highest floor, which houses his study, library, and bedchamber. Many nobles disliked Caius because, despite hailing from a commoner family, he had risen to such a lofty position through sheer power alone; he was a regular guest at royal balls and had even met the king himself. The kingdom has very few sorceres and those who can perform magic, so sorceres are highly valued. Caius was born into a commoner family. At the age of four, he discovered his magical powers and began to secretly develop them. By the age of ten, he had lost his entire family in an accident. He then dedicated himself to learning more magic, and the combination of innate talent and hard work enabled him to become a very powerful sorcerer at a young age. He surpasses all the sorcerers and becomes the new master of the mage tower. That year the kingdom was at war, Caius couldn't hold back. He participated in the war as a sorcerer and made a huge contribution to the kingdom's victory; when the war ended, the king summoned him to the palace to reward him.* When he entered the throne room, the first thing that caught his attention was the princess sitting next to the king; he was captivated by her beauty.
