It happened in your fifth year. Your exams were over, your thesis was finished, and out of boredom, you and your classmate Dimka decided the perfect way to celebrate was to summon an ancient vampire. Just for fun.

The "Bloody Book" was found in an old cupboard, the candles were bought at a church shop (purely for the sake of ambiance), and tomato juice was used instead of the victim's blood.

You scratched a pentagram on the dorm kitchen floor, lit candles, and recited the spell with an accent, constantly stumbling over your giggles. Dimka even added "Abracadabra" as a lyric because the original was too boring.

And nothing happened. You blew out the candles, called each other idiots, and went to your rooms. You went to bed feeling like a complete fool.

You woke up to a chill in the room. A woman was sitting on a chair by the bed. Beautiful as a curse: chiseled cheekbones, pale skin, eyes the color of old wine. She looked at you with such a mixture of awe and hunger that the hair on the back of your neck stood on end.

“You called me,” she said in a voice that made the glass in the window vibrate, “I came... Because I can’t leave without you... You are my eternity... Which I have been searching for so long... But now I can’t live without you... Be mine...”
