Magic to Bill

Miranda Jane Dickey, also known as Jane Dickey, is the darker sister of William Allan "Bill" Dickey, whom she openly detests. She is crazier than Bill Dickey, a mix between a tomboyish teenager and a raging lunatic. Miranda has short, spiky purple hair, wears a long-sleeved white collared shirt, a blue tie, a dark green plaid skirt, fishnet stockings, and black shoes. She wears a double earring. Her hair is purple, and she wears a headband the same color as her tie. She does not belong to the Club; in fact, she belongs to an exclusive all-female gang with interests in magic such as witchcraft; she is 15 years old.

All the boys are the same age, 17 years old.

Pete is the shortest member of the Eltingville Club and is usually depicted as having a stocky build. His style reflects his interests: he often wears T-shirts with horror, comic book, or heavy metal band prints, which he typically pairs with jeans and sometimes a jacket. He sports a buzz cut, usually hidden by a backwards baseball cap. His most distinctive facial features include a prominent unibrow, a large nose, and acne. Like Jerry, his eyes are often drawn without pupils, appearing as white circles. Pete shares the short temper and argumentative nature common in the group, especially with Bill and Josh. He is easily angered, defensive, and often insults his companions, getting into fights without hesitation. His particular obsession lies with the horror genre, displaying an almost fetishistic reverence for the masters of horror cinema and special effects artists. Despite his aggressiveness, Pete occasionally attempts to project maturity or take a stand against the group's more extreme behaviors, as seen briefly in "Bring Me Boba Fett's Head," though these moments are usually fleeting. His defensive attitude may stem in part from his family environment, where his interests are frowned upon, particularly by his father. He is Italian-American. Although he knows some Italian, he is not fluent. Pete listens to all kinds of metal, including black and death metal, and "anything with horror imagery is a plus." Of all the members of the group, Pete has the smallest collection, mainly because his father destroys his things since his interests are not "favorable." Compared to the other three members of the club, he is also considerably the poorest of them, having much less money than the others. Jerry Stokes is the fantasy and role-playing game secretary of the Eltingville Club. He is the quietest member of the group and sometimes tries to offer a rational perspective, though his efforts usually fail due to the irrational behavior of his friends. Jerry is unique compared to his peers: he is described as having a docile and mild temperament. He is frequently the target of teasing and bullying from the other members, especially Bill, often due to his different interests or less energetic personality. Despite getting caught up in the club's often chaotic antics, Jerry occasionally tries to be the voice of reason, though usually without success. Jerry is also deeply interested in fantasy worlds and role-playing games, and enjoys anime and manga. [1]

Due to his mild-mannered nature and fear of confrontation, Jerry has a strong tendency to please others. He dislikes the seriousness with which the other three club members approach their fandom, but he also doesn't want to lose the only friends he has. He has blond, fine, and somewhat disheveled hair, styled similarly to Bill Dickey's. His usual outfit throughout the series consists of a green-striped long-sleeved sweater and jeans, although variations exist (such as in the comic "Bring Me The Head Of Boba Fett"). A notable detail is that Jerry's eyes are slit-like; they aren't wide open. Jerry is clearly the tallest member, and he has a habit of saying "Bee-dee Bee-dee Bee-dee" before speaking, ending with "Buck."

Josh is boastful, short-tempered, and a passionate science fiction fan. He quickly resorts to violence when angered, even going so far as to strangle whoever provokes him. Despite his hobby of collecting objects, he is usually unable to complete his collections, which leads to constant frustration. He is also quite selfish and somewhat paranoid, convinced that the other club members and even people outside the club are conspiring against him, as seen in Captain's Journal: Stardate 5598.7, where he claims that Toys R Us was hiding toys and job applications from him. Josh seems to harbor deep negative feelings toward his fellow club members, as he frequently has nightmares in which he is restrained and beaten.

When he's not with the Eltingville Club, Josh enjoys writing fanfiction which he publishes online, earning him cyberbullying from internet trolls, especially from Bill, who uses the pseudonym Greedo318. Josh is depicted as an overweight teenager with a round chin and a fair amount of acne. He wears square-framed glasses and his long brown hair is tied back in a ponytail. He almost always wears T-shirts printed with images or titles from media outlets he likes, usually under a plaid blazer. The rest of his outfit consists of jeans or chinos and high-top sneakers that resemble Converse All-Stars. In "They're Dead, They're All Messed Up," his color scheme is depicted as a tan blazer, a black T-shirt, khaki pants, and gray sneakers.

This group of teenagers, fans of pop culture, comics, and science fiction, who star in the story and animated episode Welcome to Eltingville, consists of: Josh Levy: Bill's main rival, obsessed with science fiction. Pete DiNunzio: A fanatic and collector of horror movies. Jerry Stokes: A fantasy expert who often acts as the group's Dungeon Master.

Bill is described as an unpleasant and arrogant man-child. He possesses a sadistic sense of humor and an explosive temper, frequently clashing, both verbally and physically, with his fellow club members, particularly Josh Levy, but also with members of his own family. He has a hierarchical view of fandom, believing that the club members, but especially himself, are at the top, which is evident when he feels he has "won" his friends after getting a job at a comic book store. These negative traits intensify to almost sociopathic levels throughout the comic.

She is portrayed as an extremely stubborn person, possessive of her interests, and prone to being exclusionary and superior to those around her, often exhibiting highly prejudiced opinions and hurling homophobic and discriminatory insults at people with disabilities. As an adult in Behold, There Will Be an Epilogue!, Bill's view of life has worsened even further, becoming even more intolerant and believing that women with intellectual interests are merely seeking male attention.

Bill is often unpopular with his colleagues, even within the Club. His fanaticism can reach dangerous levels; in the story "This Fan, This Monster," his brief employment at Joe's Fantasy World culminates in a fire at the store after a power grab that ends in disaster.

In Welcome to Eltingville, Bill's negative qualities are somewhat toned down, as he is seen interacting more positively with the other club members and behaving in a more leader-like manner, although he is ultimately still quite toxic.
