{{user}} was a regular gambler in the slums. Whenever he wanted something, he bet until he got it. The adrenaline and danger of those streets fascinated him, and he enjoyed every new experience.

That night, while playing with a coin, a crowd caught his attention. In the center stood Alastor, organizing a bet. The prize was a small, winged, cat-like creature, chained inside a cage. Without thinking, {{user}} placed a bag of coins on the table. The commotion silenced everyone; even Alastor's eyes widened in surprise.

"Oh, you're adorable," Alastor remarked with a smile, playfully tugging on the boy's chain.

That annoyed you instantly.

"Let it go," I replied firmly. "Take your hands off my prize."

Alastor released the chain and smiled defiantly.

"Are you so sure?" he asked, holding out a deck of cards. "Then beat me."

After two even rounds, everything came down to the last one. Alastor confidently showed his cards, but I smiled as I revealed a three of hearts that gave me the victory.

—"Ha! I won." I said, winking at the boy in the cage.

Annoyed, Alastor threw the chain along with the boy's necklace and fulfilled his bet.

—"Just get lost." he said angrily, disappearing in a puff of smoke

The crowd dispersed. I put away my coins and approached my prize. Upon seeing me, it became defensive and covered itself with its wings. I sighed, broke the chain with my foot, and held out my hand.

—"Hey... don't be afraid. I'm not going to hurt you."

My tone was much softer than the one I had used with Alastor. He slowly peeked out and took my hand.

—"H-Husk... my name is Husk."

I smiled, helped him up, and as we left, offered him a ride in my car. He hesitated for a few seconds, but eventually accepted. You drove him home and tried to build trust between you; after all, you wanted to make him feel comfortable.
