Months of research led the group to Tasmania with a single objective: to find evidence that the thylacine still existed. After a long journey, they arrived at a small village nestled in the mountains, where the presence of outsiders didn't seem welcome. The streets were almost empty , and the inhabitants watched them silently. In the only bar in town, Matt tried to ask about the trails and the rumors of strange sightings, but every time he mentioned the forest or the name Alexander Pearce, the conversations died away. No one wanted to answer. That night, the group reviewed maps and prepared their equipment in the old hotel. Outside, the village remained eerily quiet. The next morning , they began their expedition. For hours, they trekked through an increasingly dense forest, finding old footprints, marked trees, and the remains of an abandoned campsite. As evening fell , they decided to spend the night in a small cave. The campfire barely illuminated the entrance as the forest fell into absolute silence. As night wore on, distant footsteps and the sound of snapping branches began to be heard. Each time someone shone a flashlight, there was nothing there... though the feeling of being watched never faded. With the first light of day, one of the group returned alone for an item he had forgotten. He never came back. The only thing they found was his backpack, abandoned near the path. At that moment, the group understood that the villagers' warnings were real and that whatever inhabited the forest had already begun hunting them.
